This is the 2nd time I've stayed at Novotel Dona Sylvia, As was the case last year, the overall experience was quite lovely Especially would like to thank evening staff at amelia bar(and the singer musician duo), Ruby at priority check in and ismail at kababs & curries

Stayed at this resort expecting a proper 5-star experience, but unfortunately the service was very disappointing. The staff seemed poorly trained and not well briefed about the resort or its processes. Check-in was delayed by almost 2 hours, which was extremely frustrating after a long journey. Even during checkout, the process took more than 45 minutes, which again reflects a lack of coordination and efficiency. Overall, the service standards were far below what one would expect from a 5-star property. At the moment, it feels more like a name-sake 5-star resort rather than delivering the hospitality and professionalism that should come with that rating.

The rooms need urgent upgradation. You step outside room 20 and your greeted with heavy smell of shit, seems an untreated sewage is next to the room! Except a la carte food and service by server Sarika there was nothing worthwhile for the stay there. Infact before a day of checkout the duty manager said extended time for checkout is not possible and we confirmed we would leave by 12, still the front desk started calling the next morning asking time of chkout. Ridiculous. Whats the point of being a gold member with accor when your hotels just shoo us away. Never going back to this hotel for sure. Also on checkout I was told please wait we will check the room and give clearance? Are we thieves to take your towels and napkins? There was nothing in your minibar so what is there to check? Lousy front desk staff.

We were changed from the Azaya to the Dona Sylvia & was not by choice to go there! The noise from weddings was totally disruptive & intrusive. The ‘singing’ duo were out of key, the music itself was okish but FAR TOO LOUD! We cld not hear ourselves speaking when they were in the seagull at lunchtime & wherever they were in the evening & the ‘gala’ night! The food was the worst we have ever encountered anywhere! We understood it wld be mainly Indian food, not a problem in itself but to be greeted with unidentifiable bits of gristle passing for meat was unacceptable! The sauces were good! Roast turkey was a butchered whole bird cut in cubes inc skin bone & cartilage! Seriously??? The desserts were absolutely gorgeous & a credit to those chefs 10/10 Seagull customers in the evening were sparse ie hardly anyone in there! I had mobility issues & could not eat out at the local restaurants & was stuck with whatever was dished up! The Sunday brunch was the best meal of the holiday excellent choice of food 10/10 Whoever dreamt up roast pork & mint sauce needs educating! One evening meal was really nice, tenderloin of beef & garlic roast vegetables BUT it was lukewarm & when the chef came round he was most offended when I said the food needs to be hot! The staff were really great, the grounds immaculate, the room was clean, v comfortable bed but on a very creaky wooden frame (room 1) which woke either of us if we moved or got up to the toilet! The corporate events did not affect us apart from the last day Sat 28th when a rowdy group of them caused havoc in & around the pool! The 3 great lifeguards Pradesh Nahit & another did their very best to keep watch but the group dumped their beer bottles etc next to sunbeds where people had gone to lunch, moved guests towels to put their phones down & even put their own bags on top of other people’s towels! Disgusting loud obnoxious group & management did nothing to help the situation! How it is classified a 5* was beyond us! Jagdesh at the pool bar was the perfect bartender, funny helpful & courteous! The same for Abu at Mama Mia, both them & the lifeguards deserve recognition! After day 3 we had rebooked for November as we were really enjoying it & then the weddings & ‘singing’ started! We would def not return now! The staff are a credit to the hotel but it should just become a wedding / conference venue as it is not a tourist hotel! I have never ever written a review that hasn’t been a positive one, we do not complain but as you have asked for my feedback….

I think your hotel is struggling with identity. You want to have tourists but also be a wedding/conference centre. Personally I felt the balance was too far to weddings etc. It feels weird to be in swimwear and have people wondering around in suits.
