We chose the Novatel Goa Dona Sylvia resort to celebrate ours & friends, 51st wedding anniversary. And indeed we were delighted with the welcome & excellent assistance from Ruby at front of house who ensured our celebrations were made memorable. It has been written before how all of the staff were efficient, friendly & worked tirelessly to ensure us guests had an enjoyable time. As said Ruby is a credit to the hotel as are Sate, Flava & Gautam in the restaurant, but everyone was most helpful & should be thanked. The hotel grounds & layout give a feel of spaciousness with excellent access to the miles of sandy beach's. All in all a most enjoyable holiday, thank you Novatel

Where do I start? This hotel is fabulous. The grounds are maintained amazingly, the rooms are stunning and house keeping team are brilliant. The restaurant has a buffet style breakfast, lunch and dinner, with loads of choices available for everyone. The staff in the restaurant are fabulous. The bar areas are kept super clean, and Ryan is amazing. Short walk from hotel on to the beach, shacks are lovely. If you are a dog lover, there are three very friendly little dogs, Jess, a little black one and a little brown and black one. Please be kind to them. Thank you for making our holiday fab 👌

A very enjoyable stay

We had the pleasure of spending three weeks at this lovely hotel. The staff are absolutely amazing and we would rate them as 5* plus. Nothing was too much trouble and they were a delight to get to know. The accommodation is mostly on two levels and we were lucky enough to have an upper level room. Once again the staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Although rated 5* it was rated 3.5* by TUI. We thought it was a 4* property. The food appeared to have an orientation towards the Indian visitor and this was supported by the numerous curries and very sweet desserts. Having said that there was plenty of choice for the European visitor. The only negative was the absence of any fresh decaffeinated coffee which was the same when we visited North India. Maybe the hotel will rectify this when they carry out later alterations to the dining area facilities. The hotel is set out over many any acres and has direct access to the beach where there are a number of shacks which vi for your business. The hotel grounds are very well laid out and very attractive, and once again all the staff want to communicate with the visitors as they wander through the property. The hotel attracts many wedding events from different religious groups and the events are very colourful and vibrant. Although quite loud the weddings welcome other visitors who wish to stop and engage. As a result of the weddings there can be a large sudden influx of participants who stay for short periods of time. The hotel also allows cooperate events and these can be very loud even though they are held on the lawn area. These we found disturbing. Overall we would thoroughly recommend this hotel so much so that we are returning next year

We hadn't been back to the Dona Sylvia since Xmas 2019 so we were delighted on arrival to be greeted by some familiar faces ! It was lovely to be back and ironically we were allocated the same room as we had the very first time we stayed there many years ago. The room was comfortable and we particularly like the large bed, quality linen and the spacious balcony . We took a trip organised by the Tui rep the first week and then just relaxed and had a wonderful time thereafter, lounging by the pool ,swimming and reading lots of books . The meals in the Seagull restaurant were varied and so tasty and we enjoyed our food at Mama Mia and Kebabs & Kurries too. The Christmas & New Year gala evenings were amazing , the staff work so very hard and nothing is ever too much trouble . The staff really do make this hotel so special. I can only add that as soon as we arrived home we booked again for December ..... the perfect endorsement I think !
