I would like to share detailed feedback regarding my recent stay. While we thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality, food quality, and overall experience at the hotel, there were several operational concerns that affected our stay—particularly during check-in and in relation to staff wellbeing. Check-In Experience We had two bookings—a Family Suite and an Executive Room—which were later upgraded to Family Suites under the Explorer membership benefits (subject to availability). We arrived at 12:00 pm and were informed that one room was still being cleaned. That room was provided at around 1:15 pm. We were told at 12:45 pm that the second room had been vacated and would be cleaned shortly. However, the room was offered only around 2:20 pm. I understand that early check-in is subject to availability, but the delay seemed unusually long, especially given that only one housekeeping staff member appeared responsible for an entire floor. This is not only inefficient but raises serious concerns about staff workload and welfare. Staff Attitude at Front Office While one staff member and the female trainee were courteous, two other front office staff members—one of whom seemed to be a manager or supervisor—were noticeably rude and dismissive. Without checking any details, they repeatedly insisted that check-in time is 3:00 pm and implied that early check-in is only for Gold or Explorer members, despite the fact that I am a Gold member. This assumption and tone made the interaction uncomfortable and unprofessional. Concerns About Staff Wellbeing A key concern during our stay was the apparent staffing shortage. The single housekeeping staff member cleaning the floor was visibly exhausted—sweating, working continuously without breaks, and still present late at night and again early the next morning. Similar patterns were seen at the restaurant, where the same staff working until 9:30 pm during dinner were also present early for breakfast service. This raises serious questions about shift lengths, rest hours, and overall staff welfare. While I understand that operational practices may vary, international brands typically uphold minimum standards for staffing and employee wellbeing. Membership Benefits Despite being an ALL Accor Explorer member, we were not provided with the welcome amenity kit that is normally offered as part of the membership benefits. Restaurant & Overall Stay On a positive note, the restaurant team was extremely warm, polite, and attentive. The food quality was excellent, and our family enjoyed it more than our experience at Novotel Goa Resorts & Spa in Candolim. There were some delays in service, but the staff’s attitude and helpfulness were commendable. Overall Feedback We genuinely appreciated the hospitality, food, and comfort during our stay. However, the check-in experience, lack of membership welcome amenities, and visible concerns regarding staff workload and wellbeing significantly impacted our overall impression. I hope management will look into staffing adequacy, front office training, and membership benefit consistency to ensure a smoother guest experience in the future.
