I had a good stay at the Ambassador. The staff has been very helpful, in particularly the concierge. Now, I have sent a message when I have booked and another message through the All app and I never ever got any answer. I have been asking for gluten free things for breakfast and it was not available.

Well located, good stay but needs better informed employees

The hotel is well located and overall a good stay. We noticed it was a hot spot for locals during our stay, so you might expect busy environments. We were told repeatedly that a tax refund was possible (by phone, at check-in and a day before check-out), while at check-out we suddenly got the message that it would be impossible. This would have influenced our hotel choice if it was known beforehand. The room layout (King Residence Studio) was not ideal, given that one side of the bed is accessible only by a small gap and the closet is in the bathroom.

We spent a wonderful stay at this hotel at the period of the lanterns feast. As a Platinum Member I got an up-graded room at the 18th floor. The breakfast buffet is impressive and with a various and high quality meals. On top of it there is a "tea time" upon arrival and an happy hour every day equivalent of a dinner buffet. There are an indoor and an outdoor pools but we did not have time to test them.

Stayed in a flawless, modern and very clean 2 room residence with a kitchenette. Check-in on executive floor was effortless. Sumptious Breakfast buffet with both western and korean options. Small selection but better than average 5 star lounge food in taste and quality. Weekends are fully booked and crowded. Overall a pleasant stay, especially on weekdays.

This was our first visit to Asia/Seoul and we could not have picked a better hotel for our 10 day stay. Our room was wonderful, with many nice touches and was kept immaculately clean throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel very welcome at all times. The location of the hotel was also perfect, with the subway not far away. If we return to Seoul, we will definitely stay at the Ambassador Dongdaemun again.

I used business lounge. it was really comfortable during my stay. Staffs were really kind- I could work freely with nice tea. Thanks. One thing which was inconvenient was check-in. I tried to checked in in 20fl., but the room was not ready since I tried before 3 pm. I tried check in in 19fl. but it was way past 3 o'clock- I had to be in line waiting for my name to be called when my turn is coming. i only had tea time like 20 M.. I used connecting rooms with my sister, connecting door was problem. I asked to reset my keys, but eventually it didn't work. Except for above, overall stay was really satiable. I have no complaints.

Good experience overall. Room was nice. Pool was excellent. Dinner was enjoyable but a little over priced for the quality. Cocktails were acceptable but could have been better for such a nice hotel (such as in 4 Seasons or Grand Josun Hotel). Also it would have been nice to have the outdoor pool open - if heated it would have been an enjoyable experience while giving more room to social distance.

Nice facilities, so-so service

Positives - Great facilities, nice happy hour. Negatives - 1. Air conditioning couldn't be controlled in room (was only at 24C despite complaining to front desk that it was too hot in room). 2. Housekeeping was good but several times forgot to refill Nespresso pouches. I did call to ask and these were delivered. 3. I was told at check-in that with my extended stay, room service would be 50% off. At check out, they charged full price. When I asked about this, they said they never told me this when I checked in. I'm upset they're accusing me of lying, when they did tell me this and should've honored the reduced price. That drove my decision to choose room service over buying from a food stand several times. What happened to the customer being right? I'd like this 50% still refunded to my credit card as it is the right thing to do.

The hotel manager and staff were always available to help questions and challenges foreigners face will living long-term in Korea. The management was quick to respond to requests including a different type of oven, kitchen ware and equipment such as drying rack and fan. The accommodations were very comfortable with daily house keeping making the stay pleasant.

Our stay at the Novotel Ambassador Seoul Dongdaemun was a great experience. We actually stayed here for 1 week and enjoyed it so much that we came back a few days later for an additional 4 nights. The hotel is very well kept and the staff are very professional and attentive. The front desk staff were more than accommodating to any questions, concerns or requests that we had. Brian and Kus are worth mentioning, specifically, as their customer service was outstanding. These two gentlemen were remarkable in their abilities to relate to their customers and to make the customer feel valued and recognized at every step of the way. This is not to undermine any of the other staff, as all were amazing, but Brian and Kus deserve a special note, as they went above and beyond in their passion for customer service. We were ALL Accor Platinum members at the time of our stay (we have now, since, become Diamond) and the staff made sure that our loyalty was acknowledged and appreciated; however, we noted that they provided outstanding service to all customers, regardless of their membership or status. Our only complaint that we have is that the room temperature cannot, truly, be controlled from the individual hotel rooms. We experienced a switch from warm weather to a cold front during our stay-- and unfortunately, the hotel automatically put heat on and turned off the A/C in each room. This is something that we have experienced with smaller, non-chain hotels in Korea, but it is a significant disappointment that in major brand of this level and as a member of a luxury international hotel chain that we would have to deal with this major inconvenience. The front desk did try to help us, but despite many attempts with engineering, we were unable to get the temperature back down to our comfort level, so we had to keep the windows open constantly to let the heat out and cool air (which resulted in no sleep for 3 of the last 4 nights of our stay). The front desk did provide a fan, but it was less than ideal, as we expected to be able to control our room's temperature so that we could be comfortable in the room that we were paying for. It was interesting though.. the common areas of the hotel were a reasonable temperature, but for some reason, they had it between 24-27c in our room (we like to keep it between 20-22c, at most). Unfortunately that was a major disappointment and the only reason for complaint.

The most memorable stay in my life.

Dear. Hotel. So far, I have stayed more than 50 nights till becoming an Accor Platinum member, and almost all hotels have experienced being kind and providing services for customers. However, this Novotel Dongdaemun will be remembered as an unforgettable hotel in my life for the friendly service of lounge staff on the 19th floor, which is more memorable than kindness. Till now, I have stayed at Novotel Dongdaemun 4 times, and at the lounge desk at the third check-out, manager Baek Soo-jin, friendly and humorous customer response was really memorable as he sympathized with my previous experience as an Accor staff. However, at that time, I unfortunately checked out without even asking the manager's name without thinking about writing a praise letter. And during this visit, I visited Novotel Dongdaemun again to spend the Chuseok holiday with my family. This time also I checked in at the lounge on the 19th floor, I was able to check in with more than a friend's welcome to how manager Baek Soo-jin remembered me and welcomed me so warmly. In addition, thanks to the consideration of Sim Yeon-ju staff, I received as much platinum tier benefits as possible during the holiday season, and I was able to stay at the hotel really comfortably. It was the first time I had so much fun with hotel staff that I wanted to spend time with them in the lounge every hour, due to the humorous and professional service of manager Baek Soo-jin and staff Sim Yeon-joo even though this time stay was a family holiday. I think employees who understand the consensus of customers and remember it even when revisiting should be praised. This stay experience will definitely make me revisit Novotel Dongdaemun, and I want to make sure that the top departments and general manager see my reviews and know how high-quality services the lounge staff provide, leave a strong impression on customers with friendly services, and also recognize that they are main banner of Novotel Dongdaemun.
