Wonderful experiences at the hotel for celebrating 16th anniversary with my beloved wife :) Overall staffs are friendly and welcoming. Enjoyed executive lounge with a nice view. Robotic service during midnight time was also fun.

Our stay at the Novotel Ambassador Seoul Dongdaemun was a great experience. We actually stayed here for 1 week and enjoyed it so much that we came back a few days later for an additional 4 nights. The hotel is very well kept and the staff are very professional and attentive. The front desk staff were more than accommodating to any questions, concerns or requests that we had. Brian and Kus are worth mentioning, specifically, as their customer service was outstanding. These two gentlemen were remarkable in their abilities to relate to their customers and to make the customer feel valued and recognized at every step of the way. This is not to undermine any of the other staff, as all were amazing, but Brian and Kus deserve a special note, as they went above and beyond in their passion for customer service. We were ALL Accor Platinum members at the time of our stay (we have now, since, become Diamond) and the staff made sure that our loyalty was acknowledged and appreciated; however, we noted that they provided outstanding service to all customers, regardless of their membership or status. Our only complaint that we have is that the room temperature cannot, truly, be controlled from the individual hotel rooms. We experienced a switch from warm weather to a cold front during our stay-- and unfortunately, the hotel automatically put heat on and turned off the A/C in each room. This is something that we have experienced with smaller, non-chain hotels in Korea, but it is a significant disappointment that in major brand of this level and as a member of a luxury international hotel chain that we would have to deal with this major inconvenience. The front desk did try to help us, but despite many attempts with engineering, we were unable to get the temperature back down to our comfort level, so we had to keep the windows open constantly to let the heat out and cool air (which resulted in no sleep for 3 of the last 4 nights of our stay). The front desk did provide a fan, but it was less than ideal, as we expected to be able to control our room's temperature so that we could be comfortable in the room that we were paying for. It was interesting though.. the common areas of the hotel were a reasonable temperature, but for some reason, they had it between 24-27c in our room (we like to keep it between 20-22c, at most). Unfortunately that was a major disappointment and the only reason for complaint.

Dear. Hotel. So far, I have stayed more than 50 nights till becoming an Accor Platinum member, and almost all hotels have experienced being kind and providing services for customers. However, this Novotel Dongdaemun will be remembered as an unforgettable hotel in my life for the friendly service of lounge staff on the 19th floor, which is more memorable than kindness. Till now, I have stayed at Novotel Dongdaemun 4 times, and at the lounge desk at the third check-out, manager Baek Soo-jin, friendly and humorous customer response was really memorable as he sympathized with my previous experience as an Accor staff. However, at that time, I unfortunately checked out without even asking the manager's name without thinking about writing a praise letter. And during this visit, I visited Novotel Dongdaemun again to spend the Chuseok holiday with my family. This time also I checked in at the lounge on the 19th floor, I was able to check in with more than a friend's welcome to how manager Baek Soo-jin remembered me and welcomed me so warmly. In addition, thanks to the consideration of Sim Yeon-ju staff, I received as much platinum tier benefits as possible during the holiday season, and I was able to stay at the hotel really comfortably. It was the first time I had so much fun with hotel staff that I wanted to spend time with them in the lounge every hour, due to the humorous and professional service of manager Baek Soo-jin and staff Sim Yeon-joo even though this time stay was a family holiday. I think employees who understand the consensus of customers and remember it even when revisiting should be praised. This stay experience will definitely make me revisit Novotel Dongdaemun, and I want to make sure that the top departments and general manager see my reviews and know how high-quality services the lounge staff provide, leave a strong impression on customers with friendly services, and also recognize that they are main banner of Novotel Dongdaemun. We made use of all of the family facilities, and had a great time. The only thing that could have improved the stay was the parking, as off-site parking is very inconvenient.

I was touched by thoughtful services from the crew of the hotel, from check in through check out. Also had no expectations on Accor all membership but membership service I had experience in Novotel Dongdaemun was exceptional. Receptionist who checked me in to the Hotel, not only greeted me but also thanked and congratulated me with my recent membership change to Gold. Also how calm he processed my stay calmed me from the weekend chaos(there were surprisingly lot of people visiting the hotel that day). I believe small details like those moves the guest's heart to revisit the hotel once(or twice) more. Also think managing the breakfast and pool in 3 session is very smart! Traffic of the breakfast and pool were decent. I know its tough time for Hotels to run business, but I am very sure that small details and services that membership offers to loyal members will shine after this pandemic.

Good place to stay, less option in vegetarian food

The place is a good place to stay and connected awesome to work and stay. Restaurant has very less options for vegetarians to eat.... the happy hour also didn’t carry enough options for vegetarian. I have spoken to the chef and staffs few times... but they were unable to provide healthy options...All they could do was pizza and pasta... entree was never vegetarian or just cheese egg plant... in a world of alternative plant based food easily available, I wasn’t expecting not to have options for vegetarians

Spent an anniversary night in one of the hotel’s suites. The hotel seems new and is very clean. It’s a bit dark, and a little small in scale... but the facilities are quite nice. Our room was a nicely appointed suite, but on the smaller side. Still plenty of room for a couple though. Lots of small windows in the room for fresh air (not always available in hotels these days in Seoul). The executive lounge staff were exceptionally helpful in arranging some additional room amenities for our anniversary. Great location for restaurants, bars, etc... right in the thick of it. The parking lot is TIGHT... so don’t bring your extended passenger van ;-). It’s doable, just mind your bumpers in the access alleys to the hotel parking and within the garage. Overall, a really pleasant stay and great view form the bar overlooking the city!!

I stayed at Marriott Executive Apartments for about a month prior to moving to Novotel as it was closer to work. I regret moving my hotel. Marriott service was exceptional while the service here at Novotel was mediocre. I thought about obtaining high membership status at Novotel as Accor hotel group is accessible in Asia. After my stay here I probably would never come back. I will also be discouraging using Novotel with my employees here. The people that made the rooms were extremely nice, but the hotel staff at the front desk and at the restaurant worked like a 2 star hotel. The service is definitely not 5 star here, I should have known that the 5 star rating is self given as the hotel managed to fit all the accommodation of a 5 start hotel like pool, hotel, gym and etc. Definitely not a 5 star rating by a prominent rating organizations. Employees did not even recognize us, people at the first floor were constantly on their cell phones...

Other than some stains on the sofa it was a very pleasurable stay. We stayed at the residence side for 40 days and the room was comfortable and the staff was always kind and amazing. Always looking to help you in anyway they can. Also, I felt completely safe at the hotel from the virus during this trying time with COVID.

Most of things were happy to stay at hotel. Simple point that I was uncomfortable is cup size for capsule coffee. I had to hold the any glass cup from the room when I drip down the coffee from capsule coffee machine.

ROOM I can't reach the front desk from the room. It was uncomfortable to call several times. I asked the front desk for ice, but it was rejected. Because it takes more than 1 hour. So it was very unpleasant. Finally, I went to the 20th floor and asked them to bring it myself and got it. POOL I loved the swimming pool. And Jacuzzi was good. I think it would be good if the pool safety guard cleaned and cleaned the towels quickly.

Food, service, quality of facilities and bedding were all great. Too bad that fitness center and sauna wasn't available due to COVID19. Planning to visit again soon. Next time I will try to make a reservation at the executive floor.
