Booked the hotel couple of months ago, thought the rooftop bar would be nice to end the days. Surprised, and disappointed, to hear upon check-in that the area is under construction. Maybe this info was already posted on the website 2 months ago when I booked it, I must have overlooked it. What was more disappointing however was the ongoing next-door construction. Never expected morning construction noise as a wake-up service. Ask for rooms on the front/street side of the hotel. Other than that, the stay was good, the staff friendly and helpful. The hotel is well located near the Myeongdong Street markets, a 24/7 emart next door, the subway just a few 100m away. The hotel also has a washing machine and dryer available, as well as an area to iron your clothes.

Decided to stay at MyeongDong for a change and chose this hotel. Check-in was good. Pretty fast. Explanations were also clear. Here are my likes: Simple breakfast. Not much variety. But food was tasty. Gym was small but adequate for a good workout. They could place some water for hydration. Hot shower was good. Air con can be adjusted but it comes on and off due to setting but its fine. Fridge kept things cold. Room i had was a good space but missing probably a small table in front of sofa so that guest can sit and eat, snack or do work while watching TV. I sat on the floor, using my suitcase as a dining table. They have a work desk by the window. Does not face into the room but into the street. Here are my dislikes: TV channels were quite boring. Nothing much entertaining for international guests. Most importantly, the wifi was simply horrible. You could not get a steady signal at all. If you do get, it is without internet. I had to resort to getting a data sim card for my stay. This really brought me close to rating a 2-star instead of 3-star. The saving grace of 3-star was probably the location.

Basic, can’t control room temperature , will not book again.

Booked the hotel after reading multiple great reviews but not impressed. Check in was ok and had the room early but the customer service at the counter was not great. I asked one of the staffs who helped me to book a taxi and she appeared rude and I swear I think she rolled her eyes. The room is small and design feels old. I saw that the table had strand of hair, phone was dusty and remote control worse! But the rest of the bathroom, bedsheets were clean. And you can’t control the room temperature and had to endure a 20.5 temperature throughout the stay. Location was perfect to shopping but it’s quite hard for most drivers to drop off if you have to book a taxi. You had a minute to enter the car and my mum in her 70s struggled with that. If given a chance and with the same price, I will not recommend this place for family stay. Small and my luggage have to be close thought out the stay.

This is the second Ibis hotel we have stayed in. Last year in Australia, this year in Seoul South Korea. I have found in each case very nice accommodations, a helpful accommodating staff, for a great price. Rooms were always clean, well maintained, and in a country known for small rooms, bigger than expected. They are always placed in the a great location, we have great shopping and a night market at our doorstep. Highly recommend.

Location is perfect, 10/10. Airport Limousine Bus 6015 bus stop is just in front of the hotel building. 7-11 and Nice to CU convenience stores located just a short walk from the hotel. We frequently buy breakfast (pastries) from Angel-in-us cafe just behind the hotel, and grab some coffee and strawberry milk from 7-11, if the kids want to sleep in. Coin laundry and dryer on the 10F is such a gem! We stayed more than a week in Korea and packed less clothes as we intended to do laundry there, so that we have more luggage space for shopping. There is also a microwave in the laundry room, which we were also able to use to reheat take-out food. Lots of good restos near the hotel too. You will not get hungry at all. Room is sufficiently sized, a room with the double bed can comfortably sleep 2 adults and 1 small kid. Have enough space to have 3 big luggages fully open on the floor and still left with walking space. Our room is situated almost near end of the hallway and the free hotel wifi (unsecured one) is very choppy. Reported this to front desk and staff quickly provided the password for the secured connection, which we were able to connect properly until end of our stay. Note that the bathroom is quite small, but still OK. Ibis provides shampoo, body wash, and hand wash. That's it. Starting March 2024, they stopped providing toothbrush kits - you need to purchase from them or just drop by nearby Daiso to stock-up on any missing supplies you may need. We didn't have issues with the thermostat and aircon as other reviewers did, it was pretty cold the week we were there. We will definitely stay here again!
