First the good… the hotel is modern, bedding is very comfortable, has a very well equipped TechnoGym, has a cosy lobby lounge, the staff are courteous and it’s the only Accor hotel out of three we stayed on this trip that let us check in early without asking (we’re Accor Gold). Location wise, it’s walkable to many good food options and most places are commutable by metro. The metro station is not far but it’s an unsheltered walk. Unfortunately I have to score it lower due to the very low hot water pressure in the showers, making it hard to shower in the harsh Winter and rendering the beautiful bathtub unusable. We also returned to the “made up” room to mini-bathroom flies in the shower area on two different days. They were not there when we left the rooms each day, so no idea where they came from… flew in when the cleaning lady left the door open, or from the pipes? These issues aside, it’s an overall good and comfortable stay.

Pleasant Stay Overall, with a Small Note on Front Desk Service Overall, I had a very pleasant stay. The renovated facilities were comfortable, the food was excellent, and most of the staff were kind and professional. There was just one minor point I’d like to mention. After charging a restaurant bill to my room, I later realized that a membership discount could have been applied. When I asked about this at checkout, I was advised to contact the restaurant directly. It wasn’t a major issue, but in many hotels the front desk usually helps coordinate such matters, so I found it slightly disappointing. I understand that staffing can be challenging these days, and considering the overall quality of the hotel, this felt more like an individual service gap rather than a systemic issue. Also, receiving only a receipt without any explanation was a first for me at a hotel of this level. That said, the hotel itself is excellent, and with just a bit more attention to front-desk communication, the guest experience could be even better.

Honestly a super meh hotel; not sure how they managed to get 2024 best of the best on trip advisor. Service was not particularly sincere or exceptional compared to other 5-star hotels around the world. Many hotels don't realise how important housekeeping is to the stay; it just irks when you come back to a room where they forgot to refill the toilet paper or the water and tea, forgot the floor towel or left a used cup unwashed. The view from the room was really great though.

The staffs were polite and helpful. Additionally, the hotel is well located within walking distance from Dungguk University subway (Line 3 exit 6). Kids love the food in the lounge and the cozy atmosphere. In summary, this hotel stay was a great experience and I look forward to staying here again in the future.

Would have been generally a good stay except for the egg station at breakfast at King’s. The chef was rude and grumpy on the 22nd December morning. His inability to understand English well should not be reason to tell guests they don’t know how to order eggs when his own process of taking orders was confusing.
