Accommodation at the Ambassador Hotel was not something I would remember. It is surprising that the hotel does not have a room available 20 minutes before check-in, however, I would expect that in such a case they would offer me tea and seat me in the lobby, for example - instead the receptionist said without interest that the room was not available. period. The second check-in took place at exactly 2pm, no status appreciation, no interest in the guest. The room at the Ambassador Hotel is the main plus. I appreciate the Japanese toilet, space and great bed, I consider the absence of amenities in the bathroom unacceptable in a 5-star. The cleanliness was exemplary. The service in the bistro/bar in the lobby was poor, without interest. Breakfast was very good. The sauna service was poor, but the sauna area was pleasant. The location is good and close to the metro. I would not choose it again, however. The service and attention of the staff is zero and below the level of the Pullman brand.

Since I wanted to stay in the Korean room, I decided to book 5 nights. I liked the room and was looking forward to a quiet, relaxing time; unfortunately I had to endure loud occupants on Friday (three persons) and the weekend (a family) for 3 evenings. Nothing against the occupants; it’s just a shame that the walls are not soundproof. Most of the staff were great. Since this was my first visit to Korea, I was keen to have authentic Korean food and was astonished to see that not many Korean dishes were available. Still I was happy with the Korean dishes that were on offer for lunch in 1955 Groceria. I wouldn’t say that the location was great but I was happy to discover the Namsan mountain trail was close-by. The mattress and the pillows were great! Best, actually, when I think of all the hotels I‘ve stayed in different countries.
