Dear Raffles Dubai Team, I travel to Dubai almost every month, but this visit was particularly special because I was travelling with my 95-year-old father. My sole objective was to create some cherished memories together, and naturally, I expected the level of hospitality and attention to detail that the Raffles brand is renowned for. Prior to my arrival, I had informed the hotel of the significance of this stay. I was also assured that a 24/7 butler service would be available. Unfortunately, that promise remained largely unfulfilled. On several occasions, neither the butler nor the Front Office could be reached despite repeated calls, and the same was true for Housekeeping. The phone would simply continue ringing without being answered. What was even more disappointing was the complete lack of basic room servicing. Each time we left the suite, we ensured the “Make My Room” indicator was activated. Yet, on returning hours later, we were repeatedly greeted by the same untouched room—beds unmade, the shower uncleaned, drinking water not replenished, amenities unattended, and several other basic housekeeping tasks left undone. Even the upgraded suite failed to meet expected standards. The terrace was dirty, the curtains were crumpled, and the overall upkeep fell well below what one associates with the Raffles name. This experience stood in stark contrast to my stay at Raffles The Palm a few years ago, which was exceptional and left me with wonderful memories. Sadly, this stay at Raffles Dubai has been a “never coming back” experience. I would like to acknowledge that every member of your staff we interacted with was courteous, polite, and well-intentioned. However, while the attitude was commendable, the actual service was, regrettably, almost non-existent. Courtesy alone cannot compensate for the absence of execution. Overall, I would struggle to rate this experience any higher than 3 or 4 out of 10, which is deeply disappointing for a hotel carrying the Raffles name. I sincerely hope you treat this feedback as constructive and use it to ensure that future guests—especially those celebrating precious family moments—do not have to endure a similar experience.
