We had great times in the Swissotel The Bosphorus, great people (special mention to Alp at the conciergerie and Loretta for the 17th executive floor). Except the service in the bar of the lobby, everything else was incredible. Our rooms were very pleasant, comfortable.

Most of your staff was wonderful although with the language barriers it was hard to complete several tasks. I dont quite get why you dont have your staff equipped with electronic translation devices such as phone apps as again, they are free and easy to access. We dealt with several situations of trying to translate while a staff member showed obvious frustration and impatience at US trying to get our point across. Not to mention most of your staff acts as if all your guests have infinite money and just swipe their cards at the drop of a hat. We are upper middle class in the US and I was excited to get to stay somewhere that was seen as "fancy" but if I had known how many noses would be turned up in my presence I would rather have stayed in a tent somewhere. Not to mention our towel warmer didnt work and at the point we found that out we felt so ashamed to talk to anyone we simply let it be, although that is on us for not "bucking" up and bringing it to your attention. I would like to note that your Concierge staff were absolutely wonderful and a breath of fresh air when talking to folks there, your reception desk guys were also very polite and easy to talk too.

Overall the levels of service are excellent except by the swimming pool where they are almost non existent.

This is my third time staying at your hotel and as a platinum ALL Member, I am not impressed at all.
(A). No dedicated ALL member counter. this is very strange as I have travelled throughout many hotels and there is always a dedicated counter for check in and check out.
(B). I was not recognized as a platinum member and my request for late check out was not registered and I had to request again.
(C). No upgrade was offered even though I wanted to use my 4 nights upgrade and was only offered on the last day of my stay.
(D). I cannot find my booking or the points earned on the ALL application. Membership number: 30…76Z B
My last comment, as a hotel, do you want loyal ALL customers like me or not? I did the online booking because I paid extra to have the meetings room.

Well trained and responsive staff commensurate with the five star level. Concierge could be more personable but definitely knowledgeable and responsive. While the hotel offers excellent views of the Bosphorus, has an impressive lobby and I think most rooms offer a Bosphorus view, the property layout can create challenges. The rooftop restaurant and bar offers near nightly music and since it is open-air, the sound can keep you awake in rooms facing the East Tower. The front desk offered a room change to us when we presented our issue of being kept up by the music (until 1 am). It is difficult to access the hotel on foot, there are several options but one way requires hiking thru a parking lot, another a long winding road and the other though a local park. We booked the rooftop restaurant but declined on the windy and rainy night because it is open air with only fabric sun-shades. No enclosed space at all. It was also a chore to find the lower level main restaurant without asking for help to find it. The wait staff at that restaurant did not provide 5 star service. Summary: The staff saved the day for the most part (not the waiter in the main restaurant).

Location, room size and view great, lobby awesome, bathroom big. Mehmend Efir, the breakfast chef was friendly and professional. A few critics….Reception took 45 minutes to find our reservation. Bellman did not instruct us in how to use the digital light controller. One bedside controller was missing, broken so we could not control the bedside lamp. Wait staff in Resturant brought bread without a plate to put it on no butter or olive oil and did not bring lemon slice after 2 requests. Medium rare burger was cooked well done. Wait staff had language issues so there were frequent miscommunications about our requests which lead to bringing the wrong items etc. Could not find English language programs nor streaming services e.g. Netflix on the TV. Bathroom shower floor slippery and made worse with soap. Bathroom Floor matt gets caught on shoes and we were concerned about tripping so we moved it under the sink.
