For a 5 star property, I was incredibly underwhelmed with our 2 night stay here. We stayed at 5 star properties all over Switzerland and this stay was the most disappointing. No turn down service. The spa/pool area was overrun by dozens of kids screaming and jumping/playing in the pool - not a relaxing peaceful spa experience you would expect. Breakfast not included for the price paid but was at other 5 star places for the same price.

We traveled as part of a week long stay in Switzerland to celebrate 25 years of marriage. The hotel was extremely busy over the Easter weekend and although there was a delay in our rooms being ready we never felt neglected. Only small issue is the restaurant was already full so maybe a email before our arrival asking if we required a reservation would have helped us plan our dinner arrangements.

Our fourth multi-day stay in last three years. Staff is not only well trained but sincerely friendly. Hotel remains in excellent condition. Food offerings in off season are limited to Jazz Cafe menu. Spa and work out facilities are outstanding.

Poor set up of the room and just so so service

I normally stay more than 100 days in hotels before COVID and holding Platinum status at various hotel chains. The Fairmont hotel Le Montreux Palace definitely does not meet my expectation. As a 5 star hotel, clearly know we have little baby and elderly, we have been assigned to 2 rooms (connected) with stairs in the room. The rooms have been divided into 2 parts, and the major functions, you need to step up 3 stairs. It may be easy for young, but hard when you are with baby and senior. Also, anyway, in a 5 star hotel, it is very weird seeing stairs in room (not suite). The SPA service told us clearly as free cancelation at anytime. But the manager of reception insisted to charge a penalty us. Interestingly, the penalty is negotiable. The experience with Fairmont service is similar and quality poorer than a weekend street market. I will not choose Fairmont or ALL again.

Stayed with family over two rooms. Lovely hotel and location. Facilities well kept, clean and spacious. Reception and arrival excellent and accommodating. Nice spa and gym. Swimming pool temperature can be warmer. Two rooms but with different experiences Of hit and miss room service, sometimes delayed, sometimes missing when requests are made. Also had noisy guests in other rooms fighting and slamming doors early in the morning with maintenance works also taking place early.

The Fairmont Montreux Palace never disappoints. Wonderful service that goes above and beyond if needed. The rooms are extremely comfortable with great decor and have everything you need. Delicious food, wonderful lounges, and a fabulous all around feel. The only thing I wish would be if they had an easy way to get to and from the train station with luggage. It seems too close for a taxi but a big hill to haul luggage. Some sort of golf cart or something along those lines would be great.
