Christmas Market short stay

Bit late posting this but had a great few days here at the beginning of December, when visiting for the Christmas Market. Always a warm welcome here. Rooms are clean and well laid out with all necessary amenities. If you can, go for a lake view room - it’s so worth it! Opted for breakfast in my room on this visit and each day, this was brought by the lovely Marita. Always delivered at the requested time and Marita was so friendly and ensured everything was on point. A real credit. Also, Samir at reception. Always helpful, engaging and goes the extra mile to make sure your visit is memorable and everything is as you expect. This hotel is a little more expensive but it is a real peace of calm and provides excellent service and a great stay. I am very fussy when it comes to hotels and service and (so far…😉) have no complaints with this beautiful venue.

We were excited to book fairmont looked like a luxurious property. its location is pretty decent. Room - one of the signs of luxury is space. I felt the room is medium sized and the bathroom was pretty small. the shower area is so small that a slightly obese person might have a hard time showering. the bed is comfortable. restaurants - no s there is only one restaurant and has hardly anything for a vegeterian person. even the room menu hardly has any veg options. we ordered a vegan burger and it was horrible. breakfast - the breakfast area is very pretty but the menu is very mediocre. u expect more from a luxurious hotel. they could definitely offer more options. lounge - there is only 1 cafe and is full and loud. there should be more space with spacious seating and sofas. if you want to sit and chat with friends and family there is hardly any space. gym pool and spa - i felt this was the highlight of the visit. the pool is warm and indoors and is decent size. the gym is extremely well equipped and the sauna steam and jacuzzi are outstanding. I expected more from this hotel I would not recommend coming here.

Service is excellent from reception to housekeeping to restaurant staff. BUT, the room is of poor quality (given that this is a 1400 CHF/night suite). First, there is no separation between the living room and the bedroom. We would not have booked this suite if we knew that there was no door that could close off the two rooms. Second, the quality of the faucet, toilet, etc., in the bathroom is like a 3-star hotel quality. Fairmont standard is way lower than MO, Four Seasons, Ritz, etc., when it comes to the quality of the bathroom fittings, faucets, etc. We were really disappointed. Our toilet seat cover broke apart; we managed to put it back. It was already moving when we first used it. The shower door cannot be closed completely. The showerhead and faucets are really really of poor quality - They should have chosen a more expensive model. On the second morning, we had our breakfast in another room that resembles more like a hall converted to a restaurant. Overall, the hospitality is top notch, but the facility and quality of the fittings are not.

Our stay at Fairmont Le Montreux Palace with our two children was genuinely memorable. The lakeside setting is beautiful, with stunning views from the room balcony. The hotel blends historic grandeur with modern comfort, and the staff were particularly welcoming to our young children, making the stay feel relaxed and easy. Our room was spacious, well maintained, and ideal for a family. Breakfast was generous and unhurried, perfect before exploring Montreux and the promenade.
