Very pleasant and welcoming; the check- in and breakfast staff were very lovely, accommodating and attentive. The room was comfortable with great little balcony and see view. The only downside was the constant noice from the construction work below..

The breakfast is disappointing, and not having a buffet selection, not enough plugs in the rooms.

Rocky Start but pulled it back and left very happy!

Upon arrival we had a rocky start as the room was running behind / not cleaned to the standard you would expect in these times. We then could not get a bed by the pool. I expressed my dissatisfaction to the the head of the team at the pool and the general manager. From then on in all the staff stepped up and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was immaculate, we had the best beds at the pool and everyone was very friendly and helpful. In short I was all set to leave on day one. Now I can't wait to return next year!

My pre stay experience was excellent with Gema proving to be very helpful with my booking. However, from arrival things deteriorated! We arrived at approximately 15:30 hours the entrance to the hotel was busy, I am a lady in her 60s and was not offered assistance with my suitcase. Our room was not available on check in as it was still being cleaned, I understood that with COVID 19 rooms had to be empty for 24 hours to enable appropriate cleaning! We were given a complimentary voucher for a drink whilst we awaited our room. Our room was clean and comfortable, not luxurious and the balcony overlooking the garden was pleasant, however, the bathroom was in urgent need of refurbishment with mould around the bath etc. Breakfast was mediocre and not what I expected. There was no notification that the hotel overlooked a considerable land reclamation and building project operational from early morning. The pool was a disgrace, firstly we could not access the same due to the volume of people using it (a significant cross infection hazard with no respect to COVID 19 restrictions) We could not access loungers even at an additional charge of 35 Euros per person (not indicated in the hotels booking information). A key reason for booking the hotel was it had a pool! This is not acceptable and I intend to address this issues and others with Fairmont's Executive Director. COVID 19 precautions were lax when compared to other hotels with no temperature monitoring, mandatory hand cleansing or enforcement of the one way system. Due to a change by the FCO our flights were changed to a late night departure and we were charged 150 Euros to keep our room until 4pm this seemed strange when you can get early entry to your room from 11 am for 50euros. The hotel reflects the 1970's and is tired and not what expected and I believe it is living on the merits of past grandeur and the fact that it is strategically located on the Hairpin bend. As a frequent customer of the Southampton and Hamilton princess hotels and the Fairmont at St Andrews, the hotel was a huge let down and simply not worth the nightly rate it requests.

The service was okay, nothing spectacular the way I may have experienced Fairmont in Vancouver, Singapore or San Francisco. The room is very dated and in need of an upgrade. It is unfortunate that they have oversold the view of the room. The value for what I paid for is not there and wished I had stayed at another hotel even if I paid twice more. Service is so so eg, car valet takes at least 20-25 minutes to retrieve a car even with advanced notice.

The staff were friendly at check-in, in the bar and in Nobu. Service was a little slow at breakfast, and it wasn't particularly busy. Overall the experience was very satisfactory. For the prices charged the hotel looks and feels a little tired. One of the two elevators in the bank nearest my room was out of service with no indication of when it would be fixed.

We were to stay for 14 days, but covid 19 got in the way.....The staff were warm and friendly as they always are, and nothing was too much trouble......when civid 19 is out the way, we shall return for our 14 day break.

Beautiful property, very well-kept, outstanding staff and services. The credit card hold was overly expensive and got charged fully, necessitating a few phone calls to resolve and be credited. We felt this was unnecessary. Otherwise a very lovely, fun and glamorous experience.
