As an ALL Explorer Gold member, we will usually be granted either an early check-in and/or a late check-out. For this stay, I was only granted a 1pm late check-out after asking different front desk staff at different times. My husband and I have been staying at your hotel for at least 3 times this year booked using either one of our ALL Explorer membership. We realised that consistently, there is a balding, Chinese, likely local male staff who doesn’t really smile, who will consistently decline late check-out even before checking the system. However, if we try again at another time when he is not around, the female or Filipino male service staff will at least check and provide a 1pm check-out. This time another male staff also did the same thing as the guy mentioned above, who was also on duty. It reflects badly on the hotel when it is obvious that they don’t even bother to check.

I felt the service lacked care, mutliple times had to wait to order a coffee, speak to someone at the desk and being Platinum member I didnt feel as welcome as usual. The Club isnt at the level I expected. also I asked for late check out but they said they couldnt guarantee and I had to pay for it. I wasnt overly impressed.

Good hotel and location. The breakfast was exceptional. Our check out experience was horrid as the staff locked us out of our room even though we had 30-40 minutes left. All we had to do was grab our bags but this was quite passive aggressive from the hotel staff - a call would have sufficed.

From bellhop to restaurant employees the service framework and experience was warm, professional, attentive and refreshingly competent on this a lone I would rate a 10. Some things to look out for especially those traveling for work - room lighting is extremely warm and dim and can't be raise any brighter, power points may not accommodate larger laptop plugs without unplugging much needed lamps. Bedside plug points could do with a rethink with modern device needs. Rooms are great for a leisurely rest. Those needing bright lighting in the bathroom, or where mirrors are located together with power points for hair and make up may struggle.

I will state that the hotel itself and the majority of the staff were amazing throughout, it was just let down by some of its customs and the Assistant Bar Managers antics. Rooms are luxurious and spacious, the happy hour is a lovely touch, but the hotel staff were a little overbearing, compared to what I am used to. If you have your privacy button on, they will constantly put cards under your door, stating that they couldnt clean the room, or perform the turn down service. They even phoned our room to state this at one stage. During the first days stay, they knocked on the door (for the second time that day) to ask if we wanted room service, which I thought was very strange. The Assistant Bar Manager was not a nice individual, frequently being horrible and condescending to the one other male bar staff member, while treating all the other members with respect. When I asked for a drink from the bar member, the assistant manager butted in and made the drink for me instead (he even changed the ingredients of the drink, because he thought it would taste better....it didnt). At one stage he even had his picture taken with a hotel guest, (to put on instagram), which I found to be very unprofessional).

As regular guests, coming twice a year, the hotel has become our "home" in Singapore. We are always happy to see the usual faces as that ensures the feeling of a happy home. The standard is consistently high in all the three main areas, as we see them: Accommodation, Food and Beverage and human resources. This time we visited in a high-stress period during the F1, and it was a pleasure to see administration and back office in daily active support of the working bees in restaurants, reception and other tasks.
