Our last overnight stay before we crossed into Spain was at the Mercure Grand Central hotel Bayonne. Secure parking as available close by and the hotel itself is on a presdestian Street that cars have access to for load or unload. The reception was ever so helpful and we got the car unloaded before I drove it to the secure parking. The receptionist also made us a dinner reservation at the bodega Chez Gilles. Great hotel room very clean and spacious. As well as enjoying the town we had an excellent dinner and the following morning a very good breakfast before we left the hotel. Would we come here again, most certainly.

The hotal has a great location in the center of Bayonne. The 2 receptionists we had for check in and check out were very friendly. The rooms had a recent renovation, bathroom is spacious.

So convenient to Chocolate Festival. Excellent and varied breakfast buffet. City needs to rethink long walks to long-distance bus stops. Why make us walk all that way when bus goes right by end of Pont St. Esprit after we board?

Very helpful receptionist. The room was clean and had everything we needed. However we missed a bedside table and charging socket beside the bed for our phones
