If you've ever had the chance to stay at a Sofitel, you'll recognize the flawless service, the kindness of the staff, and the attention to every last detail. My stay was perfect, as always. The only area for improvement I'd point out at the Sofitel Biarritz is that it feels a little dated. The hotel could really use a modern refresh to make it a 10 out of 10.

Much has been written about worn condition of this 1970’s vintage modernist building and we certainly found that evident on exterior. Lack of maintenance may be related to conflict between shared use of structure by hotel and multiple condominium units. The hotel interior including lobby, dining areas and guest rooms all updated and very nice…and service by staff was excellent.

While we enjoyed our stay, we were disgusted at how shabby this “luxury” premise has become. The location on Plage Miramar is fabulous and the staff were wonderful and friendly. However for the premium charged by the hotel is not at all justified. Crumbling building, rust everywhere, peeling paint all around the spa area. I have the pleasure of staying in many luxury hotels around the world and I was shocked at how shabby you have allowed this property to get, while still charging premium rates.

We enjoyed our short stay at the Sofitel. It was a short ride from the train station and a nice walk to the old part of town. I liked the direct beach walk access through the fitness center. The hotel was pretty quiet. There was no bar traffic. We were disappointed that the gift shop wasn’t open at all during our stay. There were interesting items in it.

Lovely short break , hotel very comfortable, staff excellent , food and drink to a high standard Hotel just far enough away from town to have a relaxed feel Didn’t use all the facilities available, including the spa September was a lovely time to visit , no crowds and still warm Would have preferred a non smoking room and a room that doesn’t allow dogs Very impressed and will return

This hotel is well overdue for a renovation. The facilities are not acceptable for the price or for the Sofitel brand. We felt sorry for the staff who were very helpful and friendly but were working in a sub-standard facility.

The stay was pleasant. The hotel is in a great location but is showing its age quite evidently. It is in urgent need of modernisation and refurbishment. Its a very aged property and has no signs of any recent improvements. The breakfast was very disappointing. For a 5* hotel to not have padded sunbeds was very poor. Service was pleasant.

Nice staff, great pool and location but hotel is seriously out of date and run down for 5 star. Also Accor status was ignored and instead of being offered upgrade was offered to pay for upgrade

This hotel is not worthy of the Sofitel brand and is certainly not 5 stars as marketed. The exterior of the hotel has not been maintained for decades and looks very run down. While the room was adequate (albeit outdated) the common areas were in poor condition. Carpet was worn out in the main reception area common corridors had wallpaper peeling off the walls and maintenance in general was poor.

We were extremely well looked after by the team at the Sofitel especially Concierge AG. The hotel is in a very central location, has a terrific pool and the breakfast was lovely. But its the terrific team that made it so good

Had been told the hotel was a bit tired but to be honest we had a really comfy room. Facilities were great and the location was perfect.

Staff was very good and friendly also location of hotel is good but hotel infrastructure is very old despite maintained (everything working) it looks like it was rennovated 40 years ago, all rusty. I was not expected such an old premises for such a price ! it is not adequate I will not recommend staying there for anybody. When you pay such money and there is a sofitel name on premises you expect shiny hotel and not that 50 years old fully ammortized property.
