Lovely location, good stay but the building needs update ASAP

My family and I had a beautiful time. The staff in general were good - but not always very friendly. However, the rooms really are not good value for money, and don’t reflect the standards and quality expected from Sofitel, especially that it is classified by AllAccor itself as one of its luxury brand. Furniture was old and in some places broken. The walls dirty. Bathrooms and corridors are smelly and flooring miserable. Showers of swimming pool are rusty. The facade is for abandoned property. In comparison, on the way to Biarritz and on the way back we stayed at Mercure Clermont-Ferrand, which is classified as midscale, and the place was and looked at least 3 stars ahead of Sofitel, and the staff were really excellent. Best regards.

Officially a 5-star hotel but a 2** max in practice: - Street view when they commit to sea view - Endless admin issues with incompetent people - By the way they miss personnel big time to the point that the restaurant is not open!!! Unless they propose you 40 euro per night (and not 400 as it was my case), choose another hôtel!

Tragic - what a tired and run down hotel and not worthy of a Sofitel brand

I was shocked by the decoration and tired state of hotel from the moment I arrived in the lobby. I was shown 5 different types of room each one of which was dark, dated furnishings and a balcony that would not be out of place in a tenement building. All of the staff agreed with me that the place is desperately in need of a refurbishment. I decided to cancel my 6 night stay and had a difficult discussion about your cancellation policy. It was agreed i would be charged for one night of the pre paid 6 night stay. It has been 5 days and I still see no credit in my account

I received excellent service during my stay. My room was not ready when I arrived but I was directed to somewhere to change and my luggage was tagged and stored for me. I received a call when my room was ready and all my luggage had been brought up to my room before I arrived back at the hotel, so it was in my room neatly waiting for me. The only drawbacks I had was the hotel as a whole felt a little outdated and there was a major heat wave during my time there and definitely would have liked the room to be a little cooler, but I was traveling alone and had no issues sleeping. The bed was extremely comfortable.
