I expected more from a Novotel labeled hotel. Having stayed at other Novotels across the World, this one is just not up to the task. It's an old building from the 1980 or early 90s, that that been redecorated, but the private spaces remain from other times when hotels were more compact. Also, parking is chaotic with irrationally narrow spaces that end up with all your car's doors all hit by next car's doors. Bedding OK, Cleanliness OK, Soundproofing also OK, good shower, although a little difficult for taller people (a consequence of the redecoration and adaptation from an old building). Toilets are separated, and WC space slightly bigger than in an airplane. I was told at the front desk that there are floor with newer rooms, but my experience was this, and as they say, there is no second chance for first impressions. For me, not worth the price.

We had a one night stay between 2 weeks of holiday. It was excellent. We enjoyed the pool and dinner at the hotel. Breakfast was very good. Allergy labelling was standard which we appreciated. We had a suite which worked well for a family of 4 with us effectively having 2 linked rooms.

Lovely stay in a great hotel and the grounds and pool were lovely. Breakfast and the room were very good. Almost everything was perfect, the only bad point was the three ladies running the bar and restaurant who were not friendly and at various times they were clearly discussing my wife plainly in derogatory terms making us feel deeply uncomfortable I can only assume as we cannot speak French as other guest were treated much better. We are always very polite especially so as we are unfortunately lacking in French dialogue. This attitude I fully understand in a rural local shop but in a multinational hotel chain it is extremely poor. It was especially noticeable as all other staff we met were very friendly and welcoming including the cleaning staff. I cannot comment on the restaurant due to my above point, we simply went elsewhere.

Thank you for the early check-in. No gold status upgrade or welcome amenity though. One unfriendly receptionist who soured my experience. Other French lady was very welcoming. Rooms and hallways dated. Best part was the pool, dinner and breakfast. Comfortable bed and quiet room looking over to a retirement home.

When we arrived we found that the spa was closed and this was a big disappointment as this is one of the reasons we booked here. At breakfast we found that we could not have boiled eggs and the reason was the egg boiler was broken. We really had to insist including asking why someone in the kitchen couldn't do this, before we were grudingly served. Room was ok but the curtains weren't occult and let in light all night so slept badly. Not at all a 4 star experience so we cut our stay in half despite paying in advance.
