I’m not even really sure where to begin: this was our first time staying at a Mama Shelter and had such high expectations from seeing the photos and reviews. My parents and I were absolutely thoroughly disappointed considering the near €800 rate for our three night stay. It’s absolutely not good value for money. 1) We booked the XXL Terrace Corner because it looked amazing in the pictures - and the *covered* terrace which we thought would be great for the summer. Understandable that things change and when there’s a heatwave things can’t go to plan, but the terrace was completely uncovered. Which meant the sun was glaring directly at the main window of the room most of the day and heated it up. Even with the air conditioning it was near unbearable inside the room. At least tell people or change the pictures on your website. 2) The carpets in the room were filthy. Not even just minor coffee stains that you could forgive someone for missing, they were massive and noticeable. 3) there were three of us in the room, only two sets of towels. Simple problem, should be easy to rectify. We tried to rectify the problem twice - we called reception if we could have a towel sent up. They were friendly and said one would be sent up. Nothing came for hours. On our way for dinner we asked if a towel was being sent up again… by the time we got back, nothing. Not even by the next day. We just didn’t even bother asking for another towel the following day as it appeared to be too much of an effort. 4) the shower floors are ridiculously slippery. My parents are older so have some minor mobility issues, but we’ve never had an issue where even me (I’m in my 30s) couldn’t manage at times. We would’ve asked reception for an anti-slip mat… but as you can tell how well we went with the towels, we just didn’t bother. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again or at another part of the chain. You can easy get more reliable, better value for money *and* good vibes at different hotels.
