While I enjoyed the location and found the staff very friendly, there are a few things Americans may want to know before booking. There are no small face/wash towels, so bring your own. I’ve noticed this seems to be common in other parts of Europe as well. You can order food to your room, but apparently not drinks — which honestly made no sense to me. You also have to meet outside food-delivery drivers downstairs rather than having deliveries brought to your room. The biggest issue for me was the air conditioning. Yes, the hotel has AC, but I was told it is centrally controlled, and my room stayed around 22°C/72°F regardless of how low I set the thermostat. It actually seemed to get warmer at night. If you’re an American who normally sleeps with your room nice and cold, bring a small travel fan. It may be your only hope. 😭 Getting ice was also surprisingly challenging. When I requested an ice bucket, I was given a container that looked more like something intended for utility use. Later I noticed rust at the bottom and a long strand of yellow hair inside. 🤢 On the positive side, the breakfast spread was nice, the location was convenient, the staff was friendly, and English was spoken, which was very helpful. Some of these things may simply be comforts we pampered Americans are accustomed to — ice machines on every hotel floor, controlling our own room temperature, washcloths, refrigerators, etc. 😂 But I specifically chose a hotel instead of an Airbnb because I wanted those hotel conveniences. My room also did not have a mini-fridge, and the elevator buttons were strangely tricky and not very touch-sensitive, which became annoying. Overall, the basic needs are met, the staff was pleasant, and the location worked well for me. Other room categories may offer additional amenities, so I would recommend asking beforehand if things like a refrigerator or cooler room temperature are important to you.

The check-in was good. But after that, we found a room with a bad smell; the pillows were smelling bad as well. The next morning, they decided to shut off the water in the building for maintenance without letting the guests know. We got a bad smell and dark water for hours after the water came back at lunchtime. Maybe the hotel administrators do that in their house when they have visitors, but I was never, ever, in my entire life, present such a lack of sensibility. Especially when they tried to tell me that it was normal. By far, this is the worst ACCOR hotel I've ever booked and stayed at. Never again.

Second time staying at this hotel. It’s clean and very comfortable. room size is good - comparable and slightly better to 2 other more expensive hotels I’ve stayed although they were a little more central. Still it’s only à 10 minute walk to La Pedrera and the Passeig de Garcia. Breakfast is basic but adequate. I can recommend Orgio bakery which a 7 mins walk away. Water always available downstairs for refilling bottles. Room was cool enough with the air conditioner (August). Good storage in the bathroom, less so I the bedroom if there are 2 of you - hanging rack with shelf below. Chick in and check out smooth. Would I stay here again. Yes.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but unfortunately the air conditioning was a significant issue. The air conditioning worked perfectly well in one of our rooms, but did not work in the other. This made a noticeable difference to the comfort of the second room, particularly when trying to relax and sleep. It was frustrating to have two rooms but only one with functioning air conditioning.

The room was quite hot as the AC was broken. I was informed few hours before I arrived Barcelona, and I had no clue where to stay for the night, so I decided to stay here. Although the staff were so helpful and provided me with more fans, I still found the room hot. I understand that this problem was unusual, but I still had a poorer stay than on other stays in Barcelona and other cities. I have sent an email requesting a refund (as advised), but I haven't heard anything from the hotel yet.
