Staying 5 days in one suite and a standard room. Both rooms were well appointed, modern, well lit (very important for me) and pleasant. Thanking Amadeo at checkin, he was warm, hospitable, and genuinely helpful. He offered us the concierge services that would be handled by his colleague. Made us feel welcome from the start. The first night 2 of the towels smelled like vomit. (literally, VOMIT) i had to shower twice as i cannot stand the smell after using them for shower. Luckily the other stack does not smell as bad. Still smells unpleasant though. And I put them in the bathroom after use. Woke up at midnight to find my whole bathroom smells of puke! And the phone was not working so I had to place the towels in the hallway. The phone did not work the first and second day so it was hard to ask for anything, i had to call the hotel via my handphone. The morning after they replaced the phone. And it was working for one day, and the next day its no disponible again. Battery was ok. not sure whats wrong with the phone. On the first morning, the bathroom also flooded while my husband was showering. Water spread across the entire bathroom, and we had to place towels at the door to prevent it from reaching the bedroom. The drainage issue was resolved the next day. The windows would be more enjoyable if it were cleaned so we can have a proper outside view. Breakfast was good. Liking the toiletries from Dyptique. Love the sofitel bed, I had very good sleep inspite of jetlag. All in all, this is a good hotel, with friendly and helpful staffs.

I had a great experience with Sofitel, great service, great food, wonderful breakfast and great people. The hotel is very close to the beach and not too far from the city Center and Sagrada familia( like 3 km, 45 minutes walk). Great view from the room, great staff, i liked everything about this hotel.

Sofitel is my favorite hotel in Barcelona. It is a hotel that truly pays attention to every small detail to ensure the best possible stay. The personal approach to each guest and the genuine care for all guest’s needs really stand out above and beyond. The rooms are among the highest standards you can find in the 5 stars hotel industry — spacious, comfortable, and impeccably maintained. The location is not in the city center, but it is very well connected, with short and easy access by public transportation to anywhere in the city, which I actually see as a great advantage. The service is above expectations in every sense. Breakfast is very good, the hotel restaurant serves excellent food, and the bar is also fantastic. On weekends, they even host a DJ, which adds a great atmosphere to the overall experience. And the most important is the the warm welcome on the reception, when the team doing anything for your own satisfaction. In my opinion, this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. Whenever I visit Barcelona, there is simply no alternative for me — only Sofitel.

The facilities felt closer to a four star hotel, and our experience with staff attentiveness was not always positive. We experienced several issues with the facilities, and resolving them took more effort than anticipated. Considering the price, I wouldn’t recommend this property.
