So I will say the rooms, service, location and food was all top notch and I would have happily rated it a 9 except for two things: 1) The Kids Club was a bit of a disappointment. There was nothing WRONG with it, but when I think of a Kids Club I expect there to be activities and facilities from very young children to about 11 years old. My 9 year old and 6 year old found the space somewhat lacking and the "movie" was just setting up YouTube videos. Compared to the Sakala kids club which had 2x Playstation5s and a more vibrant room with dedicated spaces for specific age groups, I feel the Grand Mercure could definitely improve 2) A bar staff member who charged me for his mistake. At the pool side bar I ordered a bottle of water. This team member then (without me asking or him checking) opened it and poured it into a glass with ice. I stated I had not asked for ice due to potential contamination. He assured me their ice is sourced from different locations but I didn't want to risk it. The bottle was half empty and he returned with another bottle, but proceeded to charge me for it. Considering this was his mistake I said that I didn't think it was right but he said because I didn't tell him prior to my order it wasn't his fault. I was not about to make a huge fuss about this but considering how much we were paying for our stay and how over priced the water was it did leave a bad taste in my mouth. Neither of the above ruined our stay and apart from the bar incident, every team member was friendly, attentive, and the facilities were well maintained and clean. I would stay at the Grand Mercue again but if the two above suggestions were acted upon I feel it would elevate patron experiences.

On the website the location appeared next to the beach - well across from it, but in reality it was well off the beach and in a closed off location. The pool was pleasant enough but lacked views and a holiday vibe, so we ended up spending days by the pool at Cocoon which was in front of this hotel and next to the beach. For a new hotel, it felt a bit weathered, dark corridors and the view from the room was awful. Food was your standard big chain buffet, but I'd avoid any of their event nights. We went to the seafood BBQ dinner and it was really disappointed, certainly not worth the expense. You can get much a much better experience from a stay at one of the more boutique hotels around Seminyak.

Beautiful foyer, with gamelan music played each day. The buffet breakfast was sensational, with some good wheat-free and dairy-free options, and a combination of Indonesian and other options.(Loved that there was coconut yoghurt, barista coffee / iced coffee with oat milk, jamu, etc.) Staff were incredibly kind and attentive. Lovely pools with sun on the deck chairs at different times of day - great spot to relax and read a book. Comments that the deck chairs are a bit limited are true, but you never needed to wait too long. Great location in relation to the beach. If staying again, I would pay extra to book a room facing in towards the pool, as the only downside was that the room overlooked a building site, and you couldn't really use the veranda or keep the doors open, so it felt a bit claustrophobic when in the room itself.

We stayed for our honeymoon trip, the staffs here welcomed us with a special decoration and a cute cake. Room was neat and very comfortable. TV had very less channel options, but it was manageable. Restaurant a la carte had only a few menu options which was little disappointing. Breakfast buffet was great with lot of options to choose from and taste was great, more vegetarian option is needed. Swimming pool was clean and had a great view. Took Spa here and I honestly felt this was the best part of my stay, highly professional therapists and rooms were neatly maintained. Location of the hotel is little difficult to reach by car as streets were very narrow. There are no beach view directly from the hotel. Also the staffs here were highly trained and they offered a great service, only thing that could have been avoided by them is their urge to get customer review with 5 stars everywhere by mentioning their names, which I was not comfortable doing.
