This was our last hotel so we wanted to be close to Heathrow on our way out. It's a big schlep from the city if you take the tube, takes over an hour. You also have to catch a bus, and google maps was constantly changing so we finally just took a leap of faith and caught the 111 bus to Nene Rd. The hotel is right next to the bus stop. When we got in, their whole computer system was down, so we waited about an hour to get checked in. They offered us a complimentary glass of wine or beer. After we were checked in, they led us to our room, but the bed was incorrect. They found us a double room right away and we were settled. Unfortunately, it meant our evening plans were shot as we wanted to go back to the city for some shopping but it was too late. There's also not much to eat around there (not counting the hotel) except one pub called The Three Magpies, which is across the street. Overall, its fine for a hotel airport, it took about 10 min to bus back to Heathrow the next day.

This is my second Ibis visit ( see York ) recently and I am impressed by their rising profile. Easy to access by bus 423 from Terminal 5 about 15 minutes or less. Polite reception staff and room ready before time. I think this is due to their online checkin the day before where you can advise of expected arrival time. Plus I am ACCOR silver status which helps. Room was to quote a phrase funky with very modern furniture. Nice big bed, comfortable. Shower and bathroom excellent. Coffee making facilities tucked away in a quirky travel case. My only quibble was no filter coffee just instant. But this is 3 star at end of day. Room temp easily changed when it got a bit warm later on. Food in the restaurant was good despite reviews. I had a pizza and an excellent Shiraz. Staff eager to please. Breakfast was good although hot stuff had been out a long time I think looking at it. The lady running the restaurant made this her own empire at breakfast and everyone appreciated her style. Only thing I have noticed is occasional aircraft noise but not excessive. Maybe sound proofing needs attention. All in all a great hotel very well priced and I would use again.

The Ibis Styles at 272 Bath road was wonderful for our short layover. We found the IBis styles more than adequate. It was very clean and extremely convenient. Our plane arrived at 10pm and after a quick bus ride we were checked in by 11pm. We woke at 5am and was back at the airport by 6am. I highly reccomend the Ibis Style for a layover at London Heathrow. Directions to Ibis Styles: As you exit terminal 5 you will see two parallel streets; one for taxi and one for buses. There are signs with numbers on the bus lane. To get to ibis styles you go to sign #6 (platform 6) to catch the 243 bus. There is about 5 stops before you get the Ibis Style. So that you don’t go pass the stop watch your travel on Google maps) It will take you less than 15 minutes before you exit to ibis. Have your credit card ready to be scanned on the bus. It will cost you $2. To leave the Ibis styles (272 bath road) you walk to the corner and cross the busy 4 lane street. There is a fence in the median so you have to walk to corner to cross. After crossing the 4 lane street turn left and walk a block and you will see the bus stop. It is less than 5 minutes to the terminal 2/ terminal 3 airport entrance.

I was allocated room 008 on the ground floor. As soon as I entered the corridor, there was a strong smell of urine. The room itself had an odour of sewage. Don't know if it was coming from outside, or within the room. There was a constant noise of air (blowing) from somewhere - like air conditioning systems. But even when I switched off the air conditioning, the blowing continued! I rang reception for help at several varying times, no one picked up! I gave up. The shower cubicle was a nice size. However, the loo and sink heights were at odds with what one expects of most bathrooms. When I sat on the loo, my feet were dangling. I was unable to put them flat on the floor, because the loo hangs too high. The sink was too. When I attempted to clean my teeth, the sink was as high as my breast area. I felt like a child at an adult sink! Its like room 008 is meant for 6ft+ tall people! It was a difficult stay, except for the bed which was "a good hard bed" and wonderful.
