overall the experience was just fine. My one (kind of big) complaint was that the information I was provided on the phone about parking for check-in was incorrect. When I called to enquire, I was told that parking was available immediately in front of the hotel for the short period it would take to unload our bags and check in to the room. We did that and then had to take the bags up to our room ourselves as there were no porters available to assist right then. I came down immediately after taking the bags and returned to car to drive to rental place for return and shuttle back to airport. When I exited Sofitel drive, I was shocked to find out at there was no way out without paying almost 10 pounds for parking. If I had known about that large charge in advance, I would have made different arrangements for check-in. It was very annoying and felt like price-gouging to me.
