From the moment we stepped into the hotel we were made to feel welcome. The Concierge was first to greet us, relieved us of our luggage and guided us to reception. We received an immediate upgrade to our room and were not disappointed. Our entire stay was relaxed, comfortable and all we needed was there. Restaurants were outstanding and other services such as spas and salons available. Best hotel experience ever!

Lovely staff, accommodating. They have several check-in desks and multiple staff in the reception area able to assist as needed. Rooms were good sized and quiet for being beside an airport. Bathrooms were large and there was good counter space in both the bathrooms and the rooms for toiletries and our luggage. French Restaurant in the hotel had good service and outstanding food. Because it is at the airport it was convenient for our conference (on site) but is approximately 45/50 minutes from downtown London and the majority of the tourist activities

Great Location, Great Room

The hotel is perfectly located for T5. Only a short covered walk to the NW corner of the terminal. If you are using the hotel and intend to rent a car then I would recommend either SIXT or Avis who are located close to the hotel reception and close by in the short stay car park respectively. The hotel was busy with other guests, and this caused a short delay in check-in but the trainee on the desk was polite and did a fabulous job of ironing out the problem and gave me a drinks voucher for the inconvenience. The room was comfortable spacious and mostly quiet. I had one of the rooms in wing 6 and had an exterior window. There was some noise from upstairs when they moved around but overall it was quiet and comfortable. Bathroom was spotless and had good facilities. The breakfast was excellent, plenty of good cold and hot food options, fresh coffee and tea. I used express checkout (placing key in a box) which enabled a swift transfer to the airport for my morning flight. The hotel has several amenities on site that I did not use including other restaurants and even a hair salon. I have stayed previously and will stay again.

The room and check in/express check out were excellent. However we were disappointed in the restaurant Vivre which plays loud, mind-numbing music. Have the courage to turn off the music. People--you will see--will appreciate a quiet environment in which they can have a peaceful dining experience and be able to speak with their dining partners without the invasion of the musical noise (never-ending drum beat, etc). My husband's found his curry dish disappointing--he felt it seemed like a reheated frozen dish. He's not suggesting that that's what it was but is commenting on the quality of the dish. He left most of it. Most of all, we would not return because of the invasive music. We would definitely return to Sofitel for the nice room accommodation. We simply would avoid the Vivre restaurant.

A good stay overall, but I think housekeeping should refill the necessary amenities on a daily basis (schampoo, conditioner, etc). I had to call housekeeping almost every day since there was at least one of these missing.

After a long flight from Australia I was faced with a 12+ hour delay in Heathrow. The ability to shower and nap in peace was exactly what was needed. The staff coped brilliantly with my jet-lagged muddled brain and I was able to recoup well before the last short leg of my journey. I enjoyed afternoon tea and a drink at the bar before making the short trip to T5. Thank you so much!

Pleasant stopover

With an unavoidable stopover of 13 hours at terminal 5 in Heathrow, even the attractions of the First Lounge looked a bit daunting. I decided to take a day room in the Sofitel attached to Terminal 5 as I had previously used it for overnighting for early flights. It was a good choice, as after a shower and a few hours rest I could continue working in comfort.

Staff terrific, coffee weak, no real cream, not enough seating in the main exhibition hall, terrible food tastes, prep and soured may wraps. People got sick at lunch Wednesday, some had food poisoning.

It was okay, however, my final invoice was wrong (a 224 pounds from the bar (15th Jan) instead of 24 pounds and still waiting to get it right). I was told it would be corrected but instead I see and additional expense in my account, so I request urgently to review it and correct it. If it is not done, I will reject the full invoice.
