I put on the booking that I would be arriving at 1:30 am as I was travelling from Spain and then had a 3 hour drive to the hotel. Upon arrival, there was no one at the check in desk. Eventually the manager came out but she was "above" doing the check in herself. She then said someone else would be out to assist. I waited. Another person came out to ask if I was ok... the manager then reappeared again, at that point another person stepped in and checked me in. Why the manager could not have done it herself is beyond me... hierachy may exist in your organisation but it should not in the face of the customer.

I understand how disappointing it must have been to experience delays at check-in, particularly at such a late hour. Please allow me to clarify that the staff member you initially encountered was not a manager, but a switchboard operator who was assisting while the reception team attended to other duties. Nevertheless, I appreciate that from a guest perspective this was not clear, and I regret that the experience left you feeling unsupported on arrival. Your comments have been noted and will be shared with the relevant teams for review to help improve the guest arrival experience during quieter overnight periods.
