Went for a quick layover at Heathrow, convenient travelling from/to Heathrow Terminal 5. Despite it being a relatively old hotel, the room was well maintained and fairly clean. Ignatios was really welcoming and helpful during check-in!

A great way to kick off your holiday

Had a relaxing day at the hotel, really enjoyed the club lounge with our really great host sujeewa, a ray of sunshine in these times. The food was as always first class along with the hospitality. Will always return all the while we fly from t5.

Average hotel, poor nights sleep

This hotel should be perfect for the airport. Unfortunately it’s not well thought through and is a three star hotel from the room point of view. It is attached to terminal 5, although the corridor is surprisingly long. There’s also one overworked lift or escalators required to get to reception, which is hardly ideal when carrying luggage. Equally there’s carpet all the way to the room, which is again quite a long way, and not ideal with wheeled luggage which presumably 99% of visitors have. We arrived after dinner and left before breakfast, so didn’t speak to many staff, although they all seemed friendly. The room was awkward. It seemed clean, but our “twin” room had about an inch between the beds. Hardly ideal. There’s also no plugs near the beds which is a problem if you need one during the night as I do. The staff did provide an extension cable without hassle, but having three sockets in the entire room doesn’t seem very five star. Neither of us had a good night sleep. The beds were very soft, and being “single” sized beds, my friend felt she was going to fall off constantly. When they say “some rooms” face internally, it also seems like “most” do. I suppose it depends on your definition of some. All in all, I’d say try the Premier Inn round the corner. Probably a better nights sleep, definitely better value.

Amazing Service!

We came last minute for breakfast and Tajin catered a full English Breakfast even though the breakfast area had closed. She accommodated us with whatever we needed! Very grateful for the staff here! The room was very comfortable and clean and well catered for!

Over priced, tired and dated but perfectly positioned for Terminal 5

We stayed at Sofitel Heathrow Terminal 5 twice recently. This is my review for both visits. In February we booked a superior room with breakfast but we were offered an upgrade to a suite with 3 course valentine's meal with champagne, entrance to the lounge and breakfast. Although it was lot of money we decided to take the upgrade as a valentine's treat. The suite was huge, with separate living room, bathroom and toilet. The decor was dated, lots of brown and beige but well maintained and clean. The bed was comfy and we had a reasonable night's sleep (mind you after a bottle of champagne that's not surprising!) Breakfast was in the lounge and was good, slightly luke warm as it had to travel from the kitchen. Negatives about the room, the toiletries in the bathroom are bolted to the wall making them very difficult to use, do they really think people who can afford to pay for one of these rooms will steal the shower gel!?!! The room is huge which for one night at an airport was excessive. The valentine's meal was good. In April we also booked a superior room with breakfast, again we were offered an upgrade but decided to stick with our original room this time. The superior room overlooked the entrance from Heathrow Airport, the area is the site of Sixt car hire, irritating music played late into the night and continued early the next morning and could be heard clearly in the room. 4 orange glowing lights stayed on in the room all night making sleeping difficult, thankfully I had a blindfold so did get some sleep. The bed was super soft, however I found it too soft, the pillows were also very soft with no options for a firmer pillow. The decor is again dated with lots of brown and beige. This room was for two however there is only one armchair provided. The only option to watch TV was to sit on the bed. The room was very clean. Breakfast this time was served in the main dining room, it's self service and there is an option of freshly cooked eggs and full English breakfast or continental. I highly recommend the omelette, perfectly cooked by a highly amusing chef. Overall the hotel location is perfect for a flight out of Heathrow Terminal 5, this is what you pay the very high room rate for. The staff throughout the hotel are exceptional, all are very professional, and go the extra mile to make your stay great rather than just good.
