When we arrived at the hotel there was a queue and we waited for 35 minutes to be checked in. The front of house staff were extremely rude and kept us waiting over an hour in the lobby for our room. The rooms are outdated and the toilets had poo from previous guest. The pillows were stained and there was no drinking water. After 4 attempts water was sent in our room. The breakfast was OK. Again checking out was a long wait and we were told due to staff shortage. It's clear that the front of house are not coping and it delayed us to get to the airport. We paid over £350 for a room in this 2 star hotel that is a disgrace.

Stay here whenever we fly out from Terminal five and usually try and book a stay and parking deal. Whilst it’s expensive the locality, service and overall ease of use makes this an excellent place to stay. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone who wants ease of transfer.

Very welcoming when we arrived. Special thanks to Arnold. Treated to an upgrade AND free drinks. Good gym facilities before flight. Meal in restaurant was efficient and tasty. This is a relaxing way to start the holiday with a short walk to the flight in the morning Thank you

We usually stay at the Gatwick branch which is fab, but this stay left a lot to be desired. Staff inattentive and not particularly welcoming. Paid £400 odd quid for a room as a member and not even an offer to help with cases. Club Millesme poor and closes at 8pm for some weird reason. Restaurant experience (grill type one) really poor with staff inattentive and rude at times (when part of my meal was wrong) and unable to understand English at points it seems, plus over expensive food which is pretty basic. Beds comfy but rooms dated and need better sockets and updated light switches. TV in bathroom old and doesn’t work. Only one robe provided in a club room for 2 people. Currently rethinking my upcoming September booking as there are better value hotels in the LHR area where the service is better. I’ll stick with the fabulous Gatwick Sofitel in future!

The lady that went above and beyond ( Shamin )

We missed our flight due to some booking issues. We were tracking with an Infant. The only available flight back home was the following day so we had to look for a hotel. Turns out the whole area was booked and not a single room to be going anywhere. Until we met Shamin, she was in charge of the front desk and she went above and beyond. So worked some magic with her supervisores and was able to accommodate us a room for the night. Not only did she get us a room but she got us a great rate for that room. We are very happy and the baby will sleep on a comfy bed. Thank you again Shamin… and for that service alone I will be back to this exact hotel over and over and over again
