Awful experience. Arrived at nearly midnight after a flight into LHR as it was too late to get a train home. Check-in was quick. Corridors are a maze to navigate but I eventually found my room. It was swelteringly hot and the air con did not work. I tried opening the window instead. The inner window has a short safety cable next to the dividing wall that restricts how far it can open so you need to be a contortionist to reach the latch on the outer window. Having opened it I realised that the noise from the traffic on Bath Road was unbearably loud. Unfortunately the window design made it impossible for me to seal the outer window closed and block out the worst of the noise again. I went down to reception to ask to change the room but there was a long queue and I was exhausted after travelling so decided to put up with it. On returning to my room I realised there are no sockets next to the bed to charge a phone overnight. I plugged it in to one of the two sockets at the desk, but there was no power to either of them nor to the socket near the door. This also meant I couldn't make a coffee to take on my train journey the following morning like I'd planned to do. Electricity problems aside, the room was very shabby and in need of refurbishment. It was far tattier than any other Ibis I've ever stayed in, even having big chunks missing out of the desk. Bathroom lighting was very dim. Shower was nice and powerful but shower screen let water flood the floor. When I went to check out early the next morning, all I got was a "thank you, goodbye" with no interest in how my stay had been. I told her about the hot, stuffy room and faulty electrics in the hope that she reported it to Maintenance to fix before the next guest has to suffer the same problems, but I'm not convinced anything will be done. The standard of housekeeping leaves something to be desired as the room wouldn't have been vacuumed due to the lack of power to the sockets in that room - the cleaner I passed in the corridor had a corded vacuum next to her trolley. The only positive was that as an apparently valued Silver member of the loyalty scheme I got a voucher to get a coffee from the breakfast buffet as an apology for not having been able to make one in my room, which was small consolation for such an unpleasant stay. I have previously stayed at the Ibis Styles on Bath Road when needing an overnight stay near LHR. This time the price was similar to this Ibis so I decided to go for what would normally be considered an upgrade. I won't be making that mistake in the future. This seems to be a tatty old hotel that's been rebranded as an Ibis but doesn't live up to the brand's usual standards. No way is this place worth the advertised room rate of nearly £100 a night room-only.

There is no functioning air conditioning in the room. I complained and they sent maintenance who “cleaned” a filter which made no difference. According to my portable thermostat the room temperature was 83 degrees Fahrenheit which is absurd. My son developed a severe nosebleed from the heat. Overall I am extremely disappointed and can believe I had to pay money to stay in such conditions. Ibis hotel should be ashamed
