Appalling Experience: Reservation Cancelled Without Justification

I had an incredibly disappointing experience with Ibis City Center, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on December 17th 2024, and I feel obligated to share this with other travelers. I booked a room at this hotel under a flexible rate, guaranteed with my credit card, and informed the hotel in advance of my late arrival after an 8-hour flight. To my shock, I arrived at 1:00 AM after an 8 hours flight only to find that my reservation had been canceled without any reason or prior notice. Adding insult to injury, no one at the hotel answered the phone when I tried calling multiple times, both before and after my arrival. Left stranded in the middle of the night, I contacted the hotel chain's call center, who confirmed that the cancellation was unjustified. Even they were unable to get through to the hotel. Exhausted and frustrated, I was forced to book another hotel in the same chain at more than double the price. This process took over an hour, and I finally checked in at 2:30 AM, completely drained. The level of negligence and lack of communication from this hotel is appalling. Canceling a confirmed and guaranteed reservation without reason or providing any support is unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one belonging to a reputed chain. I would strongly advise against booking here unless you’re prepared for similar treatment. A hotel that cannot honor its commitments or provide basic customer service does not deserve any trust—or doing business with .

Ladies and Gents, this is the type of hotel that cancels on you while you are inflight and landing in Jeddah at night. I was shocked to receive a cancellation email and text message as I switched on my phone after being inflight for about 9 hours . No explanations. Nobody picking up the phone . Unreliable . A disaster .
