As an Accor Platinum member, I was given an early check in and late check out. We had the suite with city views and we can see Namsan Tower from a distance. The room was spacious and I really like that there was a washing machine/dryer. The hotel's location is also unbeatable with it being attached by a foot bridge to Yongsan Station and the IPark Mall. Everything that we needed was only a few steps away.

This was honestly one of the most frustrating hotel experiences I’ve had. The most basic expectation of a hotel is being able to sleep at night — and that was nearly impossible here. There was constant construction noise not only early in the morning but even starting around 2:30 AM. Waking up repeatedly due to heavy construction noise is completely unacceptable. When I called the front desk, the staff were polite and tried to help, but realistically, they had no control over the situation — and I understand that this is not an employee-level issue. That’s exactly the problem: if the hotel itself cannot resolve such a fundamental issue, then what are guests actually paying for? I was told the construction was coordinated with the 용산구청 and would avoid early hours, yet work started in the middle of the night. It honestly felt like the attitude was: “Guests not being able to sleep is the hotel’s problem, not ours.” What kind of attitude is that? Another incident — and the one that upset me the most — involved items I had delivered to the hotel. I went out of my way to find and purchase some hard-to-get items (non-perishable packaged goods and personal items) and had them delivered. I arrived late at night, exhausted, and planned to pick them up the next day. When I asked for them, I was told they had been thrown away. Apparently, anything delivered is discarded after 24 hours — without any confirmation. When I questioned this, I was repeatedly told “Sorry but it’s our policy,” even though the items were not perishable. There was no attempt to verify, no effort to contact me, and no accountability. Just a "smile" and “that’s the rule.” This is where the real issue lies. It’s not just the policy — it’s the complete lack of communication, responsibility, and basic respect for guests. If this is such an important policy — one that can directly cause inconvenience, loss, and frustration for guests — why was it not clearly communicated in advance? Why was there no "highlight" warning, no notice (that can be remember) no confirmation before disposing of someone’s belongings? Simply repeating “it’s our policy” does not justify poor service. A policy does not excuse a lack of judgment, communication, or accountability. It felt like the hotel believed that as long as they say “policy,” that ends the conversation — regardless of the impact on the guest. That mindset is incredibly frustrating. It sends the message that the hotel can make decisions affecting guests without informing them, and that guests are simply expected to accept it without question. Throughout my stay, I found myself constantly having to complain about things that should be basic. That alone made the experience exhausting. A hotel stay should not feel like a series of problems that guests need to fix themselves. I tried to overlook many of the issues to avoid ruining my trip, but the repeated mistakes and poor service made it difficult to have a pleasant experience. It wasn’t just one incident — it was a pattern. It honestly feels like this hotel is used to dealing with short-term foreign guests who don’t complain, whether due to language barriers or simply not wanting to deal with issues while traveling. That does not mean the problems don’t exist — those experiences accumulate, and that is what ultimately defines a hotel’s reputation. What’s disappointing is that I had stayed here before and even recommended this hotel to friends — both Korean and international. That was clearly a mistake, and I won’t be recommending it again. Yes, hotels are businesses, but this place feels less focused on genuine service and more focused on extracting as much money as possible in small ways. The service feels superficial — not truly guest-oriented. For example, even to receive a massage, guests are required to pay separately for bath access. It constantly feels like every small thing is another opportunity to charge more, rather than to enhance the guest experience. The overall impression is a hotel that looks polished on the surface but lacks depth in service — more focused on profit than on hospitality. It reminded me of the kind of service you sometimes encounter in places where presentation matters more than substance. In hindsight, I would have rather paid more and stayed somewhere with better service and a more guest-focused mindset. The money spent here did not feel worth it. Overall, this was an exhausting and disappointing experience where even the most basic expectations were not met.
