It’s a comfortable stay but unfortunately, hotel doesn’t feel like a true 5 star hotel. Lobby and services felt like a mass market hotel.

I recently spent seven nights with my family at Novotel Suites Ambassador Seoul Yongsan, and by the time we checked out, the hotel had very much become our home base in Seoul. A week-long stay is long enough to see beyond the first impressions and experience how a hotel actually functions day to day. In this case, the experience was largely excellent, and I would rate the hotel a solid 9 out of 10. One of the biggest strengths of the property is its location. The hotel sits within the Yongsan complex and is directly connected to Yongsan Station, which quickly became the centre of our daily movements around the city. Having a major transport hub just a short walk away made exploring Seoul extremely easy. The station connects multiple subway lines as well as regional trains, so getting to different parts of the city never felt like a hassle. Whether we were heading towards Myeongdong for shopping, visiting N Seoul Tower, or planning a morning food trip to Gwangjang Market, the connectivity from Yongsan made the hotel a very practical base. After long days out, it was comforting to know that the journey back would be straightforward. Another major convenience is the direct connection to IPark Mall, which is only a few minutes away indoors. This ended up being surprisingly useful throughout our stay. The mall has a wide range of restaurants, cafes, convenience stores, bakeries, and a supermarket. For families travelling with a child, this kind of access makes life significantly easier. There were evenings when we simply picked up takeaway food, snacks, or drinks and headed back to the room to relax after a full day out in the cold winter weather. Since we were staying for seven nights, the suite-style layout of the rooms made a huge difference. The rooms at Novotel Suites are more spacious than a typical hotel room and feel closer to a small serviced apartment. Our room had a sleeping area, a sofa and living space, and a small kitchenette equipped with a microwave and sink. While the kitchenette is not meant for serious cooking, it was extremely useful for reheating food or preparing simple meals. Travelling with family means you sometimes want the flexibility to eat in the room rather than going out for every meal, and this setup made that easy. The overall room layout was well thought out. There was plenty of space for luggage and storage, which is something that becomes very important on longer stays. Instead of living out of suitcases, we were able to unpack and settle in properly. The bed was comfortable, and the room felt warm and cosy after coming in from the winter cold outside. Even though the hotel is part of a large complex, the room remained quiet throughout our stay, allowing us to rest well each night. Cleanliness was also very consistent throughout the week. Housekeeping came daily and maintained the room to a high standard. Towels were replaced promptly, toiletries were replenished, and the room was always returned to a neat and tidy state. Sometimes in longer stays the housekeeping standards gradually slip after the first few days, but that was not the case here. The room continued to feel fresh and comfortable throughout the entire stay. The hotel itself shares the larger building complex with Grand Mercure Ambassador Hotel and Residences Seoul Yongsan and Novotel Ambassador Seoul Yongsan, which means there are quite a number of facilities within the building. The lobby areas are modern and spacious, and there are several dining options available within the complex. There is also a gym and swimming pool available for guests. While we did not make extensive use of all the facilities, it was nice knowing that they were there if needed. Service during our stay was professional and efficient. Check-in was smooth, and the front desk staff were helpful whenever we had questions. English communication was generally good, which made interactions straightforward for international guests. The staff struck a good balance between professionalism and friendliness, creating a welcoming atmosphere without feeling overly formal. By the end of our seven nights, the hotel had proven itself to be a very reliable and comfortable base for our time in Seoul. The spacious suite layout made it well suited for families, and the location next to Yongsan Station made exploring the city incredibly convenient. Having IPark Mall connected to the complex also added a level of everyday convenience that we came to appreciate more and more as the days went by. No hotel is completely perfect. Because the building houses multiple hotels and facilities, the common areas can occasionally feel busy, particularly during peak check-in periods. However, these moments were minor and did not significantly affect our overall experience. Looking back at the stay, what stands out most is how comfortable and practical the hotel felt for a longer family trip. It combines the comfort of a hotel with some of the flexibility of an apartment, all in a very convenient location within Seoul. After spending a full week there, I would happily stay again and would recommend it to travellers looking for a spacious and well-connected place to stay in the city. Overall, it was a very positive experience, and I would confidently rate Novotel Suites Ambassador Yongsan a strong 9 out of 10.

Yongsan Novotel located right just beside of the Yongsan Train station which is one of the major train station in Korea, as well as its connected with shopping mall and Duty free shop as well. staffs are always lovely and friendly! its my favorarable place in Korea!
