The room assigned had lots of issues. The sliding door of bathroom was stuck, I made a complaint and it was fixed for other night. The sofa bed was wobbling. The lower half of the double bed was slanted and kind of broken. We didn't have a comfortable stay. Definitely not going back there and would not recommend to anyone.

The hotel’s location was convenient, being relatively close to the event we attended and within walking distance of Haymarket Station, which made travel easy and efficient. In terms of cleanliness, the hotel was generally clean. However, the room had a very strong smell of bleach upon arrival. We opened both the door and window for about an hour to help air it out and even left the window open overnight, but the smell persisted. Unfortunately, this affected our sleep quality and meant we were not feeling fully rested for the event we were attending the next day. The room itself was comfortable enough, and the bed quality was acceptable for a short stay. Service from the staff was good. The reception team were polite and helpful, and when we requested extra pillows, they were delivered promptly. Overall, the hotel offered good value for money, especially considering its convenient location and responsive service. However, the strong bleach smell in the room significantly impacted our comfort and overall experience.

Good not great. Some concrete issues: very loud ventilation fam in room and bathroom, on all the time with no way to switch off. Regular strong smells, particularly in the morning presumably as the kitchen started on breakfast. Aggravating lifts.

Nice room with sofa. Unfortunately the heating didn’t work but was ok with the electric heater that was in the wardrobe. Would have been nice to have a king size bed for the price and rating of this hotel like you do at some others. Nice breakfast - good to have haggis and black pudding! Usual buffet breakfast problem of fried eggs without runny yolk though.

Paid an inflated price as it was 6 nations/valentines weekend, neither of which my son and I were involved in. The air conditioning was broken making the room freezing. Another customer complained as I checked in. It I assumed it was his room only. When I came down at midnight unable for us to sleep, the receptionist denied all knowledge of the problem, but seemed very aware of spare heaters and how to reset the system. Raised the issue again in the morning without much interest from the staff or apology.

I arrive quite late, no upgrade as per status but I understand. However, I was given room where the heating system was not working. The staff was aware of the problem, and that is no acceptable, especially during the winter.

After finding out there was no heating I was disgusted to learn that this has been an ongoing problem for months. We were freezing in our rooms. We were supplied with an extra duvet and a very small fan heater which didn’t help much. We then found out that this was not an isolated case it affected the whole hotel. Not very good for a 4 star establishment. The staff were very professional but I felt sorry for them taking the complaints and trying to placate disheartened guests. The heating problems need to be sorted as a matter of urgency otherwise I cannot see your hotel keeping its 4 star status. No recompense was offered to customers who checked out because of the heating issues. My opinion is that you should not take any more bookings until this problem is sorted and I heard other guests saying the same thing. I shall not be returning to your hotel and I heard other guests saying the same.

We had to request basic facilities—such as a clothes-hanging pole, bath soap, and sufficient towels for the number of guests—that were included in the hotel services but not provided upon check-in. Additionally, we needed to remind the hotel and housekeeping to clean our room on the second day. The communal restroom is not cleaned regularly, and most sinks are out of order.

I am still disappointed to come to a hotel where we were not informed beforehand of the issue with the air con leading to being cold in the room. Staff was aware the day before our arrival. This is scotland and weather is pretty cold end of november. Unfortunately I was not the only one as we were 3 people queuing up to get portable heaters in our room.

We stayed for 2 nights, pleasant enough. We came back the second day to find no house keeping had been done. Called down and they had said that house keeping had noted a do not disturb sign on the door, absolute rubbish. Bit inconvenient but not the end of the world. What was not acceptable was that I dont think they believed us

Stayed just around the corner from the conferance centre as was attending the event, room was nice & the bed comfy but breakfast was dissappointing, the orange juice looked old & tasted as such and the machine coffee was bad, not a good start to the day for me

Stayed for a night. Room very good (although shower gel was empty). But when we ordered drinks - the glasses had lipstick on them. When raised with the bar staff - they found new glasses, and just poured the contents into them - without offering to repour. And then later our glasses had lipstick on again. It felt like they didn't really care, and it doesn't seem very hygienic to be offering glasses that haven't been properly cleaned.
