Paid an inflated price as it was 6 nations/valentines weekend, neither of which my son and I were involved in. The air conditioning was broken making the room freezing. Another customer complained as I checked in. It I assumed it was his room only. When I came down at midnight unable for us to sleep, the receptionist denied all knowledge of the problem, but seemed very aware of spare heaters and how to reset the system. Raised the issue again in the morning without much interest from the staff or apology.

I arrive quite late, no upgrade as per status but I understand. However, I was given room where the heating system was not working. The staff was aware of the problem, and that is no acceptable, especially during the winter.

Too cold in the room. Toilet flush didn’t work. Way below other mercure hotels. Manager absolutely not friendly

After finding out there was no heating I was disgusted to learn that this has been an ongoing problem for months. We were freezing in our rooms. We were supplied with an extra duvet and a very small fan heater which didn’t help much. We then found out that this was not an isolated case it affected the whole hotel. Not very good for a 4 star establishment. The staff were very professional but I felt sorry for them taking the complaints and trying to placate disheartened guests. The heating problems need to be sorted as a matter of urgency otherwise I cannot see your hotel keeping its 4 star status. No recompense was offered to customers who checked out because of the heating issues. My opinion is that you should not take any more bookings until this problem is sorted and I heard other guests saying the same thing. I shall not be returning to your hotel and I heard other guests saying the same.

We had to request basic facilities—such as a clothes-hanging pole, bath soap, and sufficient towels for the number of guests—that were included in the hotel services but not provided upon check-in. Additionally, we needed to remind the hotel and housekeeping to clean our room on the second day. The communal restroom is not cleaned regularly, and most sinks are out of order.
