This hotel is in the perfect location just off the Royal Mile so perfect for all the sites and attractions which are all accessible on foot. The Christmas market is approx a 10 minute walk and same to the bus station where you can get tours and the hop on hop off bus as well as the airlink airport flyer. Lovely clean room, friendly staff and delicious breakfast with plenty of choice.

Good cosy rooms, well cleaned and heated. The staff are friendly too and helpful. The meals were good. The location is well suited in the middle of edinburgh, close to all the tourism spots. Highly recommended for tourism or business visits.

I booked for two nights and the first night I had virtually no sleep due to the extremely hard, very old, poor quality mattress on the bed. Plus the room had faulty facilities; kettle did not turn off automatically, shower head was broken, shower screen leaked water all over the floor. I lodged a complaint with the receptionist and was given an upgrade to a Premium room for the following night. I was told that all the mattresses on the beds are the same in every room. However, I assumed that the premium room would have a better quality mattress. Wrong! The mattress and bed was the same, in fact, everything in the room was the same, the only difference was that the room was slightly wider. Thankfully the mattress was not as hard and painful to sleep on as in the first room. But it was still not what one expects for a premium upgrade. When I mentioned this I was offered a free breakfast for one morning. As I have a wheat intolerance I could only eat the cooked food which was cold and overcooked. I tried to eat a small amount but it tasted so bad I left hungry and walked to a cafe to find decent food to eat. The room upgrade (to a room exactly the same) and one free breakfast is definitely not sufficient compensation for the painful, sleepless night I experienced and poor standard of food served for breakfast. I should have been given a full refund. I have photos of the bed and bathroom facilities.

I used my bonus break here for the weekend that just gone. Amazing hotel and amazing staff. Shocked it’s an ibis….always assumed they were ‘budget’ but had a better stay here than most 4* hotels.

I had a comfortable stay at Ibis Centre Royal Mile with great service and amenities, but unfortunately, the mattress was a big downside for me. The bed was far too soft, and the top mattress didn’t offer the support I needed, which left me waking up with significant back pain each day. I’d recommend updating or adding a more supportive option for guests who prefer a firmer sleep experience. Other than that, the rest of the stay was lovely!
