For me the room wasn't warm enough. The TV had to be switched off at the wall socket to re-boot each time to switch on. The quilt was a bit thin, especially as the room was not that warm despite cranking the heat up to full. Reported to reception but was not resolved. Kitchen facilities were great and sufficient for my needs, and.I love the idea of the foldaway bed.

The room was lovely, unfortunately there was a few small things that did annoy me but I feel it was an over sight, generally as the room and all other areas where spotless, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the breakfast was perfect. The bathroom however hadn't been cleaned properly, it did discourage me slightly but we where only staying the one night and due to the cleanliness in the other areas I didn't bother complaining to staff. The glasses in the bathroom had toothpaste splash on them, the paper coasters had a couple of dark hairs too. The toilet seat when lifted had a brown mark and there was a pubic hair stuck to it, the door was filthy near the handle on the inside and it definitely hadn't been dusted in a while as all silver fittings had a dust coating, there was a brand new shower mat in the packaging still that hadn't been took out so I think it's safe to say the bathroom was left by accident by cleaners. The hotel itself was clean and had a lovely relaxing vibe, the receptionist though was persistent that I show a passport or a form of id, she said its standard in the uk for all citezens, not anywhere in my booking did it state this otherwise I would have been prepared, I was in the Hilton at Christmas who never asked for this or any other hotel through the year, my husband showed his license and gave his details though to avoid our booking being cancelled, I found that very intimidating and strange. The staff outwith this where lovely. The hotel was quite which was perfect for us, I had a great sleep and was very refreshed in the morning so much so I'm actually thinking of returning in a few weeks, the breakfast was perfectly sized with varied options and catered to all. Id have gave 10 out of 10 if it hadn't been for the few details that did let it down but I have recommended to a few friends all ready.

We understand that hotels have different policies in regard to security and requirements for utilising their services, however this is done to ensure the safety of our guests, both checking in and in house. I’m sorry if this was not explained efficiently during your arrival. For prior booking information, it is noted on third party websites that ID and a valid debit/credit card may be required upon check in, typically found in the policy section of the main hotel information page. However given the independent nature of how the third party website display this information, this may not always be highlighted in the manner that guests will easily notice. For instance on this particular third party website, it is under the section "At a glance", but required a "See more" click to expand to the section "Required at check-in" for the full information. I am sorry for the effect this has had on your experience with us, we truly do appreciate your feedback and always want our guests to feel welcome. Excellent hotel! Great amenities, friendly staff, up-to-date gym and above-all, very competitively priced. Walking distance from old town and 15-minute brisk walk from Princes Street. Would definitely come back!
