Rooms clean and compact - design of shower shoukd be incorporated with toilet in one unit for privacy. No kettle in rooms although free facilities in foyer. I would prefer in room as expected with any hotel. Breakfast at £8.50 per head was too expensive for what was on offer - not good value. No fresh coffee, just powdered instant which was unpalatable. Car Parking was an issue and would put me off booking again. The Hitel should offer free or discounted spaces for guests. Location of hitel was good for City access with regular tram line 5 mins walk. Hitel was clean, tidy and staff were both professional and helpful. Reasonable fir cost but not sure I would book again.

My partner and I were disappointed with the lack of space provided due to the additional bunk bed and associated ladder. There was hardly any space to move around the bed, and definitely limited space to open our suitcases. The space under the bed was not possible to use for these suitcases, as the bed was low to the ground, and even our medium suitcases did not fit under them. Also having the washbasin and shower in the same space as the bedroom even further reduced the "free" floor space. In light of the cost of the accommodation we were disappointed with the package. We do acknowledge the helpfulness of the staff on site, and have no concerns re their professionalism, but the facility is far too compact for the use by two persons, we hate to have to use such a space with three adults'

Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was adequate. Positioned close to public transport that took us directly into Edinburgh city centre.
