I used the hotel as an overnight stop for a party in Edinburgh. The room was excellent value for money, although I missed not having a fridge in the room. But the bar area and pizza was an excellent surprise for late night snacks.

I have been an ibis customer for many years and have stayed in ibis Budget hotels in several countries. This is the first time I have experienced a situation like this and, more importantly, the first time a complaint has been answered by saying that because it is an ibis Budget, I should expect something basic. At ibis budget Edinburgh Park, there are no radiators or central heating. Heating relies only on an old air-conditioning unit, which was insufficient and noisy. Even at maximum temperature, the room remained cold, and at around 1:00 AM the unit stopped working completely, leaving the room freezing. This is particularly unacceptable as we had booked an accessible room. The first room assigned had a strong sewage smell. After changing rooms, the only solution offered for the cold was a portable electric heater, which is not an acceptable standard. After the stay, my request for a partial refund was refused, justified by saying that ibis Budget is a simple hotel and therefore poor heating should be expected. I strongly disagree. Being a budget hotel does not justify inadequate heating in winter. Using this argument negatively affects guests and the ibis brand itself. Finally, the breakfast is extremely basic and not worth the price at all. Overall, a very disappointing experience from a brand I have trusted for years. I would not recommend this hotel, especially in winter or for guests requiring accessible accommodation.

Everything was great, room clean & quiet but breakfast did not mention there was nothing cooked - my diet requires eggs, there was NONE

Disastrous hotel. There is no heating in the rooms or in the corridors. In the room, we only had a hot air conditioning unit, which was not enough to heat the room, let alone the bathroom... We had to request a change of room and had the same problem in the next one... Breakfast was poor and there was not much variety. I do NOT recommend this hotel.

Thank you for your feedback. During your stay, we arranged room moves to address the issues raised, and when temperature was later mentioned we provided an additional heater. Each room has an individual air-conditioning unit designed for heating and cooling, with settings up to 29°C, and our team can also assist with adjustments or extra blankets if needed. As an ibis budget hotel, our rooms and facilities are intentionally simple and practical, and breakfast is our standard continental buffet. Thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback.
