Decent hotel but noisy

Firstly location. With a tram/train stop close by the hotel is easy to get to from the airport and then super easy to get into the city centre. If staying for a few days get the tram ticket online as much cheaper than a day ticket. The tram line is a plus and a minus. Whilst convenient for getting to and from the hotel I found the noice a challenge. Other people commented on the great soundproofing of the room but I have stayed at this hotel more than once and often struggled. Especially if you have a room that looks out onto the tram line. The hotel is modern and caters for basic needs. Buffet breakfast has a good selection and if dining in the evening , whilst not extensive, there is something that should suit everyone. Staff are friendly and helpful. There is a basic gym on site and a small pool Overall an ok stay but found the noise from the trams meant a disturbed night sleep and the pillows were not comfortable. A shame as everything else is good. Nice shower and comfy bed.

Great hotel, nice facilities clean spacious rooms, comfortable bed. Great location as right near the tram line into the city and good parking onsite at a reasonable extra price. My review would have been 5/5 if it wasn’t for the hairdryer be warned if you have longish hair it’s savage it does come with a warning which I didn’t see until after as it was on a cardboard notice on the side. It sucks your hair in! Luckily my husband managed to untangle most of my hair I only lost a small clump! The hairdryer should have a big red warning sticker on it.

Disapoimting Restaurant

The hotel was clean, the staff attentive and efficient, but disappointed with the restaurant. The beef bourguignon was so tough it was unable to be cut with a knife or chew easily. The fillet of lamb came with the wrong potatoes and was cold, this was sent back to the kitchen and was not much hotter when it was brought back. Then when we asked for mint sauce the waitress didn't know what it was and came back and told us they had none. The hot breakfast items were cold, the heat lamps were useless. Luckily there are good alternative restaurants not too far from the hotel. There was no indication when booking there was a fee to park.

I am disappointed to hear that you experienced an inconvenience with the restaurant, and that this inconvenience spoiled your hospitality experience as a whole. I have spoken to the team members who were on duty on that night and they have explained that they did their best to apologise for the issues with both the beef bourguignon and the lamb. This was undoubtedly a mistake from the kitchen and I can see that we also failed to rectify it properly, however, I was informed that this dinner was completely taken off the bill as our Manager on Duty decided that you should not be paying for a meal that was not to your satisfaction. I understand that this still caused disappointment but please rest assured that we did what we can to try and improve your experience at Novotel Edinburgh Park. I would also like to explain that we do advertise our parking fee in all our channels. In our direct website, the parking charges are explained along with car park capacity and general information.
