Our recent trip to the Novotel at Edinburgh Park was 10/10 from being greeted on arrival to our departure. The staff at reception & in the bar area were amazing. Our stay was was for our husbands birthday, a little annual treat for a couple of days and I honestly can’t fault anything, the room was immaculate - love that it has a mini fridge, added bonus the toiletries are all from the ‘Rituals’ and the room was very comfortable. Whilst staying at the hotel we had dinner & in the mornings had breakfast which was buffet style with great options for adults and children! Added bonus if you’re paying for an adult breakfast, our little one ate free! Whilst also on our stay we made full use of the pool, steam room and sauna!!! Wow the cleanliness was spot on! Hotel also offers a gym! Overall we had such a wonderful time celebrating husband’s birthday and will be back soon with our parents! Why not let them experience the amazing service we received. Many Thanks.

Exceptional Stay at Novotel Edinburgh Park: Highly Recommend!

I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the entire team at Novotel Edinburgh Park for their impeccable service. The location is perfect, with easy access to the tram, buses, and trains, making travel around the city incredibly convenient. Every detail of my stay was handled with professional excellence and genuine warmth. A special mention must go to the staff at Paolozzi Beer & Kitchen. The food was absolutely exceptional, and the atmosphere provided the perfect setting for our visit. Most importantly, I want to personally thank Ms. Medina from the reception team. Her kindness and attention to detail made our anniversary truly special. It is the dedicated staff like her who make a stay at Novotel so memorable. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

I booked a one night stay in an Executive Room with Queen Bed, with breakfast, for £134.68 direct with the hotel a week or so in advance of our stay. We were attending a match at Murrayfield Stadium and parked at the hotel and dropped off our bags prior to traveling to the game by tram (£4.20 adult return from nearby Edinburgh Park Station). We appreciated that the receptionist offered to help regarding our hotel parking charge however even she had some difficulty processing this as it transpires. Eventually a ridiculous figure of £40+ was indicated for 24 hours parking but we were advised not to worry as the discount had yet to be applied. The ultimate “discounted” charge at £16.40 was still ridiculous for hotel parking at this location in our view. It’s not comparable with the £5 cost across the tracks at Premier Inn for the same facility. Post match we returned to the hotel and checked-in to our room (410) which overlooked the nearby tram and rail tracks and, in the far distance, Arthur’s Seat and Edinburgh Castle. There was some early morning noise relating to the trains however it wasn’t overly noticeable. What was perhaps more disturbing was the room décor. The retro looking carpet and curtain combination was perhaps inspired by a nightclub from the 1970’s. The room was similar in size to a standard Premier Inn room (and likely that of a standard room at Novotel). The facilities included a large wall mounted flat screen TV with Freeview channels, a desk and chair, a two-seater sofa, a safe, a small fridge with bottled water (one sparkling and one still), kettle, tea & coffee and a Nespresso machine with some pods. There were complementary slippers and although bathrobes were supposed to be provided they weren’t but we didn’t bother to pursue this omission. The Queen sized bed felt comfortable and we slept well however in the morning I had a sore back. I’m not sure if the bed was perhaps too soft or perhaps my celebrations at the rugby were having a belated impact! The ensuite had a walk-in shower which was very effective in both the rainfall and wall mounted options. The sink by contrast drained slowly with the plug in place so not so handy for shaving although I did appreciate the effective heated mirror. They provided plenty of large soft towels and quality complimentary toiletries which took up most of the shelf space. We had pre-booked dinner at the hotel rather than eating out in town and this proved satisfactory. The restaurant was quite smart and had a relaxed atmosphere with a number of guests choosing to dine-in. Table service is provided. The food was very good - we both had Coconut King Prawn Skewers for starters (£9), followed by mains of Roasted Cod Loin (£23) and Salmon fillet (£24). We shared the Scottish Cheese Selection (£8) to complete the meal. Food totalled £73 and with drinks added the bill came to just over £107. Note that a 10% service charge is automatically applied and the staff member highlighted this to us when settling matters - taking the bill to just over £118. Service was pleasant. For the record drinks included Edinburgh G&T (£8.95), a 175ml glass of Sauvignon Blanc (£10.70) and Disaronno (£6). We found the bar area a bit too cool for comfort when having post-dinner drinks but persevered for a while! Breakfast was self-serve in the restaurant and consisted of a good quality hot buffet which was being frequently topped-up. There were numerous other options of cereals, fruit and pasteries, etc and the watery looking porridge was the only let down in our opinion. We didn’t make use of the swimming pool or gym on this occasion as we didn’t have the time! Overall the only real spanner in the works here is the parking charges for hotel guests.

Dear Rantinr, Thank you very much for your recent stay and for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We’re delighted to hear your kind comments about our team and that you enjoyed both dinner and breakfast with us. I would like to offer a few clarifications that may be helpful for any future stay. While we are located close to Premier Inn, we offer a broader range of full‑service facilities, including a restaurant with table service, a swimming pool, and a gym. For this reason, Novotel properties — including ours — are not classified as budget hotels, but as midscale, full‑service hotels with additional leisure and dining amenities. Regarding the guestroom, the Executive Room you booked follows the standard Novotel design, size, and amenities, aligned with the brand’s global specifications. We appreciate your comments on décor and will continue to review guest feedback as part of our ongoing improvements. Thank you again for your constructive review and for highlighting the friendliness of our staff. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the future. Warm regards, Novotel team
