Fantastic location with extremely friendly and helpful staff. Great stay for 2 nights with a decent view from the suite balcony but unfortunately was very disappointed with the quality of the sheets. Checked in to find brown streaks across the pillow covers and sheets. Housekeeping turned up very promptly but found that the “new” sheets were worse with stains. Had to return twice with all sheets having similar stains at which point we had to accept that all sheets would be in the same filthy state. This was not up to our expectations as a 4 star hotel and in the best possible room the hotel offers. Staff only offered a half hearted apology and nothing further. However, the WhatsApp feature was very helpful and replies were almost instantaneous. All other needs were met except for the issue with the sheets.

Terrific location, satisfactory breakfast but I didn't like having the exact same thing three days in a row. Maid service entirely unsatisfactory. Your policy is that the customer must put out a card on the outside of the door to get service, then you don't tell them that this is necessary until they complain. I am sorry I do not make it a habit to read everything in my room before I go about my business. Day two when I tell the front desk about the lack of maid service then I am told to put the card on the outside of the door, and at the end of day two, I have to tell the desk again about no maid service, but I could never find any card to put out, so the maid still ignores me even though I spoke with the desk. Not only Novetel in Edinburgh, but now all Novetel's are suspect when it comes to good service.

Reception staff were fantastic and the breakfast was very nice. However, if you are booking for the fitness centre, don’t. The pool is tiny as is the gym, and the equipment in there is substandard. There were 3 machines of which 2 were broke, one bench and weights that only went upto 10kg. The room was spacious and clean although mine had a funky smell in the entrance. Location wise it is fine, around 10 mins to a tram stop and anywhere to eat or drink (unless you like takeaways).

I had a good stay at the hotel, the only thing i think could of been better is the food in the bar area. Other than than it was a good stay. Also, has the entry doors been fixed?
