I spent two nights at the Novotel. I love this hotel; every time I return, it feels like home! Annie is fantastic, as is the entire reception staff. Everyone is very kind and always smiling. The rooms are very comfortable and spotless. The restaurant is excellent, and the waiters are very skilled—always eager to accommodate everyone's needs. The location is fantastic! The location is absolutely perfect—situated just off the bustling Grassmarket, it offers a peaceful retreat while still keeping 'everything' within easy walking distance. It is an ideal base for exploring Edinburgh on foot. An extra bonus is the indoor swimming pool, which was a great feature to enjoy after a long day of sightseeing. 2 night stay. They Did not even change our bedsheets after first night. Just put the same ones back on! Wind noise at night from things flapping around on roof! Pool a bit dirty. Good location and was enough for what we needed, as we’re out a lot, if needing a longer stay pay more for a better hotel. But for the price was Otherwise satisfactory.

I had room next to the elevator which was noisy. I understand your green approach in not cleaning every day but, it would be nice to get at least clean cups since in the room is no soap and towel to wash those.

I think my stay was just ok... I think my room was very small for a family of 4 considering for the price I paid! We felt really cramped - no floor space at all once the sofa bed was pulled out! Staff seemed to do the bare minimum - had to ask for towels for our room? And they couldn't provide a bowl for some water for our dog. Key cards were a mess - had to get 4 different cards to get one that worked to get into the pool changing rooms. I wouldn't stay again for the price.

Very disappointing experience. We paid for parking for three days, but on the second and third days we were told there were no parking spaces available, even though we had already paid. On our last night, because we needed to leave late, they made us pay for parking again. Overall, a very frustrating experience. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Comfortable and clean room, goood location, good breakfast. Would have been handy to have information given about the complimentary water in the room (and that it doesn’t get replenished). Also would be good for reception to make sure people know they need to scan key card in lift- this seemed to trip a lot of people up!
