Dear Tony M., Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the Mercure Newcastle Airport. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. We understand and appreciate your frustration regarding surveys being sent to you however this is not a property generated survey. As part of the wider Accor network, all guests who depart are sent this survey no matter which hotel they stay at. The only suggestion I can offer you as a member is to contact Accor Member Services on 1300 36 36 37 o ask them to remove you from the database. I'm sorry you were prompted to critique our individual hotel as you were annoyed by the survey. The room was nice but upon check in I had asked if I could use some more points to towards my stay and was told she was unsure (and that’s fine if the team member was not sure, she was lovely and friendly) and that when I check out in the morning, I did mention I would be checking out very early, that the manager would be on and she would be able to sort this out for me. When I went to check out the team member on was not the manager and wanted to charge for the full price stay even though I had booked online using some points, I said no that’s not right I have used some points when i booked and the balance is incorrect and also wanted to use more of my points as I had been travelling and occurred more points I could use, he said he doesn’t know how to do that and the manager was not in as yet would ring me in 30 minutes when she arrived and we could pay over the phone when she called. There was no call and the amount was just taken out of my credit card. Terrible customer service, the manager should have called as promised not just take funds out of my credit card. I am very dissatisfied with this treatment

Disappointed that was unable to order a drink with room service anymore after a late check-in arrival and no mini bar facilities either.
