We arrived after walking from Newcastle. The staff were very welcoming and the room was very comfortable. We had dinner at the restaurant and the young lady waiting on us was fabulous. I can't praise her highly enough. Looking forward to staying at Mercure Newcastle Airport again.

Our flight was cancelled. The choice was join the long line at the airline counter or call Mercure Newcastle. The Mercure staff recognised who were were, and within minutes, we had obtained 2 rooms. We were settled in, enjoying our welcome drinks and ribs long before the first of the rest of the plane arrived. The first few had been allocated this hotel. The rest were being transported back to the city. By that time we were settled in our room. It is when things go wrong in your travels, that you REALLY APPRECIATE the recognition that being loyal to Accor brings.

There isn't much to say. The check-in / out process was easy and smooth. The room was well kept and cleaners did a good job. We ate once for dinner in the hotel and the food was good and the staff who served us were friendly, quick and not overbearing. The only small hinderance I would note would be the boom gate. It only opened once automatically for each attempt even though I stayed behind the white line as mentioned on the sign. However, this does not detract much / if at all from my opinion of the hotel. Thank you.

Staff were very friendly. Quick and easy check in and checkout. Staff do need to learn how to put a baby's cot up. A port-a-cot was supplied and sheets were laid into the bottom of the cot, but the cot base/mattress part was not inserted. It was left standing in the corner of the room.
