Friendly staff, great location within easy walk from Airport, Nicely designed comfortable rooms. A great stopover before my Business Conference over the weekend, especially since flights to my home destination were not available for immediate collection and drop off. It was great to unwind from a busy week before and after the conference.

This was just a one night stay for business but the staff as usual were very friendly and accommodating. We had a good dinner as usual in the restaurant and our room was spacious, clean and comfortable.

A disorganised room transfer at midnight and no airport shuttle

I have stayed at the mercure Newcastle airport hotel numerous times and have always been very satisfied with the service and hospitality. Unfortunately this stay we had an electrical fault with the card reader ticking consistently (this was ok as it happens) however the after hours manager was not accommodating and did not know what to do initially saying that there would not be much we could do. We were moved after a period of time to a twin room as we could not sleep. No sorry for the inconvenience given. We had limited sleep with a early rise and had to get soaked in the rain on the way to the airport. The same after hours manager was on when we left and did not seem empathetic. We had dinner the night before which was lovely and the lady when we checked in was also accommodating.

Good overnight stay

We checked in on a very wet evening and I was a little frazzled from driving all day in the pouring rain. I dropped my elderly mother at the door and went and the parked the car. On arrival to check in the gorgeous Lara had helped my mother in and comfortably settled her - I was so grateful. Lara then assisted me going to the car and bringing in the luggage - in what was now torrential rain. We were allocated a lovely room and could find absolutely no fault. There needs to be more Lara’s in this world and Accor is fortunate to have her as an employee!
