From the beginning they charged a group booking more expensive than online so we had to negotiate the price. Melanie who organised the rooms was lovely. From there it was all downhill the breakfast was a none event, no food, cutlery, cereal, coffee, bread it was an embarrassment for the 14 rooms we had booked for a breakfast after the wedding the previous evening. Two people in the breakfast area so people from the front office were coming to empty the dirty tables. Guests continued to bring in coffee and food from the café next door as none was available from the hotel. The experience was a embarrassment from the moment we arrived for breakfast with no apology to any guest or the people who came into the hotel to meet for breakfast. Being an Accor Gold member we supported Accor, no points were credited to our account.

In difficult times for the hospitality sector with staffing etc this hotel's management has managed to excell. Service was exceptional at this ideally situated hotel, close to surf and the top end of town.

Pretty Poor. No room servicing , no bed making, no fresh towels. Breakfast on first day was cold so we went elsewhere on following days. The coffee machine was out of order. We were told to find a table which had no utensils, and it remained like that for 10 minutes before I got up and went to the serving kitchen entry area and requested 2 settings. A glass of shiraz cost $12. Medalions of veal for my only dinner there were tough and tasteless. As for hygiene, the hand sanitiser container in general foyer was empty for the nights we stayed there. There was no internet for the first day. Didn't bother with it after that. A very disappointing experience. Worst for the many years of being an Accor member.

The hotel is clean and the location is nice and close to the beach though we were amazed at how much of the surrounding area was closed on a a Saturday afternoon - but that's not Novotel's fault. The receptionist was friendly and efficient. The room was standard, we were disappointed with the view over the 'courtyard' and could only see the sea when lying on the bed. The bed was comfortable. The lack of bath was disappointing and over all we were underwhelmed by the room especially at the price point. The TV had no volume which was a particularly big deal for us on this evening. We reported it twice and were told that it would be fixed and someone would be up to the room but no-one appeared. It didn't work for the whole of our stay. Generally OK but at $407 for one night inc parking without breakfast, I expected better.

We stayed to attend a wedding in Watt street so location was perfect Check in was easy but frustrating they have no where to park while checking in so you need to use metered parking before you can pay to park underneath. Room was clean and tidy loved I could open a window for fresh airflow The disappointment was breakfast on both mornings lack of staff to set or clean of tables no spoons for cereal or cutlery on the table both mornings had to look for staff to get them Lack of hot food in the bays on both days 8am on Friday 9 am on Saturday and when it came out it was only enough for a few people at a time and to get a paid coffee was over 20 minute wait Staff looked overwhelmed and run off their feet to many people wanting to eat for the staff levels Overall a good stay

We arrived for one evening's stay only. Location was great, reception staff was priceless, helpful and very friendly. Room was clean, modern and the bed was very comfortable. We stayed as we came up for the Rugby game - a great experience overall.

Comfortable bed, clean bathroom and rooms and well located. Booked hotel partly because of the availability of parking. Details of the related $25 per night charge was not easy to find when booking. Did not know about this till the night before our arrival. OK about paying this, would have liked the charge to be more transparent up front.

Charged for parking which was not available

I was charged $25 for parking which was not available and had to park my car on the street. I approached the duty manager to make a complaint and was advised that parking is not guaranteed and that i had not been charged for parking (I had).I wrote to Novotel requesting a refund and did not receive a response. Not impressed.

The cost of the room on Good Friday was far to expensive.

Too expensive over night rate on Good Friday. We had to pay for parking, we were not told that when we booked our room for two nights with Accor. When booking girls are hard to understand. Much prefer to do booking over phone in Australia.

The hotel itself is nice. The staff at reception need to grow some manners. At check-in, the receptionist was quite rude. I had guests staying with me who commented on the receptionist's behaviour. Not a good look.
