The customer service, the room size and Breakfast were all nice. My only complaint is that I got charged a $45 fee I don't know why. It was supposed to be scrapped from my bill by the manager but I still got charged. I'm still waiting for a refund. Not happy about that

I stayed for 4 nights after a previous one night stay at both the Novotel and QT and not sure I made the right choice given comparable on price. I love the location, EV charging facilities and young guy on reception who was only doing his 4th shift but clearly trying hard to to do a good job but that's probably where it ended. Room was smelly, mold in the bathroom, 2 single beds pushed together for a queen, safe wasn't working (took 48 hours to fix) and housekeeping was truly terrible. Room wasn't clean by 4pm one day even though we had been out all day and on every occasion making the bed consisted of pulling the doona up and that's about it. As a diamond member and given room rates I found this to be a very disappointing experience and not sure if i will stay again despite intending to visit regularly as my daughter has moved to Newcastle to study.
