I booked a room that promised two single beds. I then followed up weeks in advance to confirm it, and was told it would be two singles. And disappointingly I arrived and it was one double bed. So i ask reception to fix it. They said we can put a roll out bed on wheels for night 1, and fix the problem ahead of night 2. But that never happened sadly. So i slept on an average bed on wheels for the 3 nights. Might be a small thing, but it wasn’t what i paid for.

Great stay but poor execution

The room was nice but poorly executed for a wheelchair user (and family) for example the single beds were close to the door which we had to move to allow access to the bathroom; the other point was beds are on wheels and more when transferring. (Secondary issue with the Hotel bistro food was not up to par for the price being restaurant tier)

The Novotel is close to all the good things Newcastle has to offer - the beach, the foreshore, the restaurants and cafe. The hotel carpark also makes it super convenient (at $30 per night) to keep your car safe and secure and out of the summer heat. The room is spacious and comfortable. It did have a funny smell but seemed to air out when we opened the windows. Reception staff were polite and friendly.
