For years, the Como has been our home hotel, whenever we come to Melbourne. The warm welcome from the management and staff, the pleasant atmosphere, the spacious and spotlessly clean rooms, the varied and delicious breakfast, the quiet yet central and convenient location, make it highly recommended.

Great hotel. Best location, great breakfast and the only downside is that it needs a renovation. It’s very tired however our experience there was not brought down by the physical appearance of the hotel.

Mix up of car parking. Lionel was extremely unprofessional. The manager told him to stand at the counter and go away. He refused and kept arguing at us. We told him we could maybe park one of our cars at our grandmas house who has terminal cancer to free up his car parking. He said that it is not his problem and that my husband is nice but not me. We were not abusive but asking to speak to a manager as we had travelled from Sydney and had confirmed twice in phone calls that we would have two car parks which wasn’t the case. Lionel’s service was totally inappropriate.

What you have described is extremely concerning and does not reflect the standards of professionalism, empathy, or respect that we expect from our team. I am very sorry that the situation regarding car parking was mishandled and, more importantly, that the interaction you experienced made you feel dismissed and disrespected — particularly after travelling from Sydney and receiving prior confirmation. The comments and behaviour you’ve outlined are unacceptable. This matter has been escalated to senior management and will be addressed formally. We take feedback of this nature very seriously and will ensure appropriate action and retraining is undertaken to prevent anything like this from happening again. I truly regret that this experience overshadowed your visit, and I apologise for the additional stress caused during what was already a challenging time for you and your family.
