Sadly from the moment we got out Fontenot on our floor it smelt damp and our room was even worse. The mini bar was not well stocked. Woke up in the morning and everything in the room felt damp.

The staff were friendly and the room was lovely and clean. The only issue was that the balcony door was not locked when we arrived, which I only realised on our third night, and it was actually very fiddly to get it to latch. It left a little gap as well. A direct result of this was that we could hear the music from the Casino. Being on the 4th floor, I didn't feel unsafe, but a better lock would be better ...

Whilst the building is definitely 5 stars, as was the catering for the conference, and the conference facilities in general. The room is a big let down. Specifically the beds - they are way too hard, and when I mentioned it to reception after the first night all they could offer was to put a comforter over the mattress. I tried this, poor, I ended up with 3 comforters & sheets & this was barely sustainable. Then to add to this, the awful commotion (supposed to be music) on Friday and Saturday nights that was so intrusive, I had to keep turning up the volume of the TV! The rest of the facilities in the room were very good though - hence the 5/10, the good and the bad.

Room on eleventh floor, bathroom recently renovated however the rest was very outdated. Room smelled mouldy, felt like air conditioning needed a thorough clean.

My stays at the Pullman International in Cairns are always a great experience and I appreciate the consistent service and comfort each week. The room service team also deserves a special mention. The attendant is friendly, fresh and professional, greeting me with a warm smile and making me feel welcome. These little touches make a real difference and reflect positively on the hotel. I have also noticed I am now being allocated level 5 rather than level 4, where poolside music and guest noise can sometimes be disruptive as I like to leave the balcony door open on occasion to enjoy the fresh air of Cairns as my workplace on most days are inside an aircraft. Thank you for taking my room preferences into consideration. I would gladly appreciate being allocated a room on level 6 on a regular basis, as I find a quieter room makes my overnight stays much more enjoyable but I do understand paying guests come first. Thank you for consistently looking after me as a regular guest. I appreciate the service and hospitality and always look forward to returning.
