I chose Pullman Cairns International because it is a five-star hotel, and I expected a certain standard of service. However, the experience I received was far below what a five-star hotel should provide. It was extremely disappointing. • Despite carrying approximately 40kg of luggage, no assistance was offered to help bring my bags to the room. • I called multiple times to request help with my luggage at check-out, but no one answered the phone. • When I went back to my room to relax and use the pool, my room key had already been deactivated even though it was still during my paid stay. As a result, I was unable to use the pool at all. • After a 36-hour flight, I was exhausted and desperately needed rest, but I was unable to relax at all due to these issues.

I ordered room service which arrived luke warm at best, rang to let them know and was told it would be credited off my stay but on checkout I was charged. I had to explain all over again to have it removed. I rang housekeeping and was transferred to reception asking for one more towel and a very low pillow due to neck surgery and was told the message would be delivered to house keeping but nothing every came. Checkout took over 45 minutes due to a huge line with only two staff on reception with a function close and checkout this should have been anticipated. I was late to a meeting because of this and I hate being late. Overall this was very disappointing.
