The location is great, right in the city centre and close to everything. However, my room was near the elevator, so there was always some noise, which sometimes made it hard to rest properly. The breakfast area is quite small, and on some mornings it was too crowded, so I preferred to have breakfast elsewhere.

Prime location in Centre Ville, making walking around very easy. Comfortable room and bed, with TV, A/C and fast Wi-Fi, and simple bathroom with all the amenities. Very graceful and nice staff.

The room had no windows, only one skylight that didn't open. Also there was no ventilation that I could see, only a wall-mounted aircon (that circulates air, doesn't bring any in) and a vent out in the bathroom (that only runs when the bathroom light is on). BUT manager Antoine was friendly, intelligent and helpful, and immediately organized another room at a (better) hotel around the corner. The staff looked unsurprised that I found the room unacceptable. I'm sure mine wasn't the first complaint. I doubt that the room conforms to the relevant legislation. If it meets the letter of the law, it doesn't meet the spirit of it. (Décret n°20… du 30 janvier 2002 : "un éclairement naturel suffisant et d'un ouvrant donnant à l'air libre ou sur un volume vitré donnant à l'air libre.") Verdict: 2 out of 10 points for the room. But 9.5 points out of 10 for the service by Antoine. That young man shows promise, I recommend him for promotion to a better hotel in the Accor group. Also, the room I ended up with at the Mercure was excellent, especially as I did not have to pay extra.
