I had to book this hotel because there were no rooms available in any of the Bamberg Hostels. For a single person it was expensive. If there was someone in each of the three beds then it would not have been so costly. It also illustrated what good value a hostel is as of course at a hotel one cannot use a kitchen, kettle, fridge etc. It was also quite a way from the centre of Bamberg which did not bother me but may be inconvenient for some people. The road outside my window was very busy and noisy.

When we checked in we were given early check in at no cost, which gave a really nice first impression! The AC was at full blast and the temperature was just perfect, very nice when it was 32 C outside! We had amazing first nights, no notes! Sadly the last night we had some... Enthusiastic neighbors, who's adventures could be heard in great detail.. That drags down the score some. Whilst the hotels aren't responsible for the guests, some more noise isolation was desperately needed.

Regular stop off for me on trips to Germany. Love the reception team at this property - great spirit and friendly. Also enjoyed small enhancements to the breakfast buffet - in particular hot boiled eggs... they are an egg-xcellent addition (sorry!). This time my room was a little battered. E.g. football sticker on the air con unit, which didn't work (perhaps broken thermostat?) and a torn curtain, which probably needs replacing soon. All in all - I love my stays here.

I have stayed in many hotels around the world, but this was the first time I experienced such practices. Upon arrival, I was asked to pay upfront, which is unusual, as most hotels request payment at the end of the stay. This gave me a feeling of mistrust and was not a pleasant start to my visit. The room was quite cold and, surprisingly, there was no hairdryer provided. When I requested one, I had to leave my passport as a deposit just to borrow it for ten minutes. This was extremely inconvenient and felt very unprofessional, something I would never expect to see in Europe. Additionally, the breakfast did not meet my expectations in terms of quality. Overall, I was disappointed.
