we have been 13 times for a lovely weekend away - girlie shopping. We have always loved it as it is great value for money. We appreciate the cost goes up but this year, the cost went up and the service went down. This year we were told to order our dinner by 6.30 due to 2 groups dining at 7pm. We complied but did not get our meal until 8.15pm, despite being told that we would be served once the groups had got their starters. This meant that on our second night, we did not eat in the restaurant at all. Also in our room, the cups and glasses were not washed, although the beds were made.

Lovely looking building. The reception area looks great. Staff are very friendly and helpful but the interior corridors look very tired and need a refresh. Our room was ok but cob webs on the ceiling and mould on the bathroom.

Very impressed that the duty manager (Steve?) quickly ensured we were checked in efficiently. From client point of view, everyone needs a Steve! Other staff very helpful and some confusion over duration of stay quickly and satisfactorilly resolved. Reasonable breakfast choices and easy car parking.

Staff attentive and welcoming but hotel very “tired”. Room scruffy- stained walls broken furniture, no heating and bathroom had damaged tiles and dirty grouting.
