The receptionist Lisa was lovely so welcoming and sorted our queries during Check in. Room was lovely and clean (very hot being on top floor) and extremely spacious for a family room.

Was a very lovely hotel just was not happy with the fact that we paid for early check in at 10AM and when we arrived we was told check in isn’t until 11AM which I thought was wrong as we paid to be able to check in at 10AM as we had a wedding to get ready for and we was delayed by getting ready as our room was not ready when we arrived very disappointed

We completely understand how important it was for you to access your room on time, especially with a wedding to prepare for, and we regret that this was not delivered as promised. Firstly the staff are great, the Hotel lets them down. I wanted to book by phone to explain our requirements I did not know the phone number I found on line was the central Mercure booking office! I explain that we are both partially disabled and had they an accessible room if not a room with walk in shower, I was told yes and made the booking. On arrival we found we had a bog standard room with a shower over the bath which neither of us could use !At reception the young lady tried her best to find us an alternative but was unable to do so as they had a large tour party who had the other rooms. Surely your central booking should have know this then we could have found somewhere else to stay as it was we had appointments in the area so had to stay and struggle to keep clean and fresh!!! We knew this hotel, or thought we did as we had been there when it was just Great Danes unfortunately it has the standard has dropped considerably, the carpets were very dirty and stained, it really needs a redec. The hand basin in our en suit had a crack across the bottom and the water pressure is awful especially flushing the toilet. Needless to say we will not be returning to this hotel.
