Doors banging loud shouting next door. During the day and during the nighr and morning. Several calls to reception. On leaving reception lady said all i can say is we are really sorry. This stay was supposed to be relaxing. We were extremely disappionted.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel but it could have been so much better. Reception staff were excellent and friendly. So good start. However ladies sauna, not working and we were not informed beforehand. We stayed at the hotel half board. Breakfasts were nice with a very good variety of food. However we had a complaint on the first night, gammon was very fatty. Half of it could not be eaten. Spoke to the waiter to complain and he did nothing. Food on all other evenings was very good, but drinks are expensive. Room was not cleaned at all well. Swimming pool was out of action on the friday, so again our experience of the spa area was affected as we were really looking forward to relaxing properly in between visits to Leeds Castle. The swimming pool area also needs a complete overhaul, it is claustrophobic and badly laid out. The maintenance issues in this area were of a concern too, so we didn't get the full experience. There was a door by the jacuzzi with a security passcode needed but it was left open and there was a warning on same door warning of corrisive chemicals. The younger staff here are so much better we thought, properly attending to our needs. Some of the older staff need a bit of customer relations training, except reception who were very good. Spoke to the manager Nina who was very nice, and listened to all our concerns. Offered a solution and we are still waiting on a full resolution. The location is very good but overral we aren't sure if we will stay here again. The hotel needs a spruce up and looks tired and jaded in lots of areas apart from the restaurant which looks brand new. If some improvements are made the location would be perfect. Most areas of the hotel are very clean, but there is only so much difference a cleaner can make. Rooms are spacious and Beds are big and comfy, and we both slept really well. Overall we are giving this a six out of ten. Could easily have been an eight. Some money needs to be spent by mercure, the staff are trying hard but without proper investment it affects the whole feel of the place.

Smooth & quick check in; reception staff v helpful; a super breakfast, calm atmosphere, with plenty of variety & freshness; no problem with parking; hotel location great for our Leeds castle / Chatham dockyard break. Pool & changing area could do with a refurb although nice to have this additional facility and available to use for many hours. My only criticism is our room location (inward facing) was disappointing - constant 'hum' of a generator / air con unit & the windows were v old double glazed that didn't block out the noise & huge amount of condensation in the morning. The room however was clean, tidy, plenty of tea/coffee facilities, sufficient towels & toiletries. Hairdryer unfortunately did not work

We arrived from the Shuttle. We had upgraded to a quieter room at the rear of the hotel for £13. However the windows were not double glazed and the road noise from the M20 did not make for a sound sleep. The cold outside air was causing a draft of air into the room through the poor window seals. The heating was poor and when one closed the curtains at night it prevented hot air from warming the room. Although the room was very clean and well prepared the hotel is in need of an upgrade as it is very tired and well warn.

The hotel is set in lovely grounds and benefits from a great location. The swimming pool was a real highlight, especially for children, and added to the overall experience. However, there were several drawbacks during our stay. Our family room was located quite a distance from reception, which made things less convenient, particularly with children. It was also positioned above the events area, where loud music continued until midnight, which was disruptive. The TV in the room was not functioning properly (no volume), and although dialling ‘0’ connected to reception, calls were not answered. We eventually had to call externally to get through. Overall, the customer service experience did not meet expectations.
