Hotel and staff were lovely, food was amazing, we had a lovely weekend break. Great room, massive bed all amenities you would expect - shower, tea, coffee, biscuits.

A basic hotel that needs renovation

Such a shame they this hotel is run down and run on a shoe strong budget . I hadn’t been for 15 years and it looked as though it hadn’t been decorated properly since then. The sofas in the seating area in the restaurant look like they belong in a student dorm old worn with holes in . The seat in the restaurant look had stains on them and wear dirty . The room tiny , no electric sockets near the beds . Stains on the walls and carpets . The curtains didn’t close properly and were filthy . The walls hadn’t been cleaned for a long time and I don’t want to guess at some of the stains up the under the television. The corridors from the lift to the room no better really , old carpet, stained ceiling tiles , dirty doors . Breakfast was ok . Not the worst I have ever had but not worth £17 each for breakfast . Eggs under cooked and only a fried option - the food room temperature. There is a pool and spa - I didn’t try them. Food in the restaurant was fine we had chicken pie and a fish finger sandwich .

"We recently held our Managers' Away Day at the Mercure in Maidstone and I could not be happier with the fantastic service we received throughout the process. Right from making the initial enquiry, I received quick clear meeting options and the prices were very comparable too. Any questions I had leading up to the event were answered quickly and efficiently. On the day all the staff were very friendly. The room was set out comfortably and the food and refreshments were of great quality. The location is convenient along with the ample parking. Couldn't fault it and would highly recommend."

A quick and efficient check-in and upgrade being a platinum member to the privilege room thank you for the front desk staff. Unfortunately, the restaurant was very noisy with many kids running around wildly shouting and yelling, but the staff looked after me well and gave me a glass of wine FOC. They were very attentive so thank you to the Restaurant staff for being very aware of the situation and responding well especially Mae and her supervisor Allison, thank you both

Stayed here for two nights, nice room with comfortable bed and good shower, restaurant was great had a nice pasta dish which was lovely, all staff helpful and friendly from reception to the restaurant staff, would stay here again.
