We stayed one night midweek with our dog who was made very welcome. We had a double room which was a good size and very comfortable with everything we needed. Being able to access the dining room menu in the bar worked well and we were agreeably surprised that my husband could find something on the menu to suit his dietary needs. We were very impressed with the breakfast with very good selections to accommodate different dietary preferences. The help yourself hot choices were stocked by a very attentive chef who ensured the supply of very nicely cooked and presented fried eggs. Staff were present and friendly but not intrusive. They created a good atmosphere and appeared to have a good team ethic.

Upon arriving we were given room 123 ,we unpacked then realized the curtains were badly torn, the chair was threadbare and dirty and something had eaten the edge of the desk.We went to reception and they did offer us another room, but our friends were staying opposite and theirs was not a lot better. The manager arranged to meet me on Sunday morning , but guess what he was off duty and we never saw him again. Our shower was unusable because no cold water adjustment. We were on a coach trip and all 32 of us were locked out of our rooms on the last day , all had to go to reception to renew our keys only to be told that it was all to fault because we’d left our keys next to our phones. All 32? Evening food buffet , canteen standard, not four star. Very poor. Phoned and complained, promised to call me back but guess what did not call me back. Look at previous complaint this room was supposed to be taken out of service.but it obviously wasn’t.

Hadn't thought about Christmas parties when booking. Also car racing going on outside (nothing much you could do about that I accept)

Nice hotel, big beds, small bathroom.
