Room was very cold, I tried to adjust the thermostat in the bedroom but cold air (felt like air con) was coming thru the vend. I reported it to a member of staff (male) and he said it must have this sign to the left, which I responded it has, he said he would look into it and fix it. It was never looked at in my opinion and I mentioned it again to the lady when checking out on the 22/12. I had a very busy 3 days stay at this hotel and I purchased two throws in the high street in Sutton to keep myself warm especially at night as it was very cold as it was a big room. I loved the big room to the front of the Hotel and the staff member who checked me in on the 19/12 (slim Chinese guy) is very professional, friendly and engaging and very very helpful.

Overall, my experience was neutral, with some positive aspects but also several shortcomings that don’t allow me to rate it higher than two stars, maybe three at most. The initial welcome was very good: a young receptionist, I believe Asian, was extremely kind and helpful, which gave a great first impression. The room was very quiet, the bathroom was in good condition, and the shower worked perfectly with strong water pressure. The location is convenient as it’s close to the train station, although unfortunately it is quite far from the city center of London. That said, there were some disappointing issues. We specifically asked for the bed sheets to be changed, not once, but twice, and despite this, we returned to the room to find the same dirty sheets still on the bed, which I found unacceptable. We were told that housekeeping had already finished for the day but that they would take care of it anyway; however, the room was only tidied up and the main request was completely ignored. Another downside is the lack of a refrigerator in the room, which would have been very useful. In addition, there is no phone in the room, making it inconvenient to contact the reception if needed. The hotel has potential and some strong points, but attention to basic services and details needs to improve significantly. For now, the overall experience remains below average.

We will probably use this hotel again in the future but, we'll have to remember that, there is no shelf or even a ledge in the shower thus making its use very awkward. Also, we had to use a phone torch in order to make a coffee owing to there being no light in the very dark corner where the kettle is located.

I have stayed at the Ibis a couple of times. It’s very close to the train station and the town centre. The rooms are very modern and clean, the bed is very comfortable. The reception staff are very friendly and polite.
