I've stay at Ibis due Mercure were sold-out , this OK , but seems like the hotel are ibis like and Mercure just name... so my expectation were not reached

I didn’t get my invoice on checkout. The receptionist said would be sending by email and nothing done. I sent an email requesting the invoice and I don’t get the answer. I called a lot of times, but I can’t talk with hotel. I need an answer about it.

Very good but I almost not enjoyed my stay at the Hotel. There is a problem with the middle elevator the must be repaired. It was a different reception in comparison to my other stay at this hotel. The attendants were not as welcome as before.

I was told that I could entering the room anytime I get to the hotel. No fees. I have arrived around 7 o'clock after 24 hours travelling. Nobody knew nothing, did nothing for me and I was R$ 100 charged. Talked to the manager, sorry that's it. No refunds.

Horrible experience at the reception

Even after confirm all my information in the ALL app before the reservation, during the checkin I needed to inform all information again, and the worth part is that I needed to give my credit card in hands of the receptionist. Why I need to put my credit card in risk, if I had already paid the hosting? At the checkout I stayed in line for 20minutes, just to return the keys, even though I have already paid. Nothing against pay at the checkin, but if it’s paid, why can’t we just put the keys in a box? And because of this rule, I couldn’t use my rewards points to pay the my stay. Íbis is by far the worst hotel in the Accor chain. Not even a washcloth was provided at the reception.

The location is good. Going by car got me a bit confused, because it is in the same building ad Mercure Hotel. As they share some structure, the hotel has gym and sauna, that other ibis budgets usually don't have, so, it is a plus. The location is good, some restaurants around, in front of the beach and a pier. All clean, staff polite. All you usually expect from Ibis

Like all Ibis Hotels, this one has a good price and its roons are confortable, but quite noisy. The location is good, because you can walk for 10 minutes and get to famous avenue Olegário Maciel, where there are a lot of restaurants, pubs, etc.

IvanCurtiss Solo travel - TripAdvisor review

Nothing special about this hotel. It is an average Ibis Hotel with nothing-to-write-home-about rooms and service. Bar staff very attentitive, I should not forget to mention that. Breakfast is on the rather basic brazilian type side, with too much bread/carbs options and few options of fruit. Fruit juices could be more varied too. Location is OK, not too far from the busy rua Olegario Maciel area, with lots of restaurants, bars and nightlife. One block away from the famous Pepe beach, which, as with other Rio beaches, is not good for swimming - sea bed gets very deep quite soon, strong current and waves, and an Antarctic-freezing water temperature.

It was a good surprise. The hotel is well located, near the beach and the staff was friendly! I strongly recommend Ibis Barra. The price was fair, the room was clean and clear. We had lunch at Mercure that belongs to the same group, and the food was very good. There is public transportation near the property as well.

Ibis charged twice for the same service (I had to pay twice for the breakfast). After the trip I contact them by phone and they confirmed the error. They asked me to contact them via email and I did so. But I have not received any feedback until now.

Stayed in the Ibis on two occasion during our recent visit to Brazil. Reception staff are very friendly and helpful, with most staff speaking some English (and our Portuguese is, unfortunately, very limited). Rooms are exactly what you think you are going to get. Restaurant and bar staff are similarly helpful. Checking in seems to take a long time, so queues can build up at the desk. Good security in hotel and rooms. Rooms facing the sea/bar area can be noisy on certain nights. Overall, good value for money.
