A one night stay in Frankfurt for the football. Have stayed here before, and handily located for the station to get to and from the airport. Bar opposite with a good range of drinks.

Upon arrival, the lone receptionist was in the back office and appeared to be engrossed in a private telephone conversation. After a couple of minutes, he came out and apologised for not having heard me come in. After that, the check-in process was smooth and efficient. My room on the fourth floor was clean and well-appointed, with a comfortable bed, shower, Japanese-style toilet, coffee machine, hospitality tray and desk. Breakfast offered a good selection of hot and cold items. There was a slight flaw – possibly to do with air flow in the corridor – that caused my bedroom door to rattle whenever a neighbour closed their bedroom door. Similarly, my room looked out on to the noisy street and the soundproofing wasn't quite up to the job. I nonetheless got two reasonably good nights' sleep. Breakfast offered a decent selection of hot and cold items. Upon checkout, the receptionist was once again in the back office eating a meal: I do not blame the receptionist for that, but as this seems to be a frequent occurrence, perhaps the management should hire an additional 'floating' member of staff who can stand in while a colleague has a proper meal break. That aside, the checkout process was friendly and efficient and the price was very reasonable.
