The hotel was good and comfortable. The location was very bad. A lot of addicts and suspicious in the neighbourhood. I did not feel comfortable when walking in the area.

The hotel is conveniently located close to Frankfurt Hbf, which makes it practical for business travel and transportation connections. Naturally, being so close to the main station means the surrounding area is not the most pleasant, but for a short business trip it is acceptable. Unfortunately, the customer service was well below the standards I would expect from the Mercure/Accor brand. During check-in at around 20:30, the night-shift employee was cold, rude, and frequently interrupted me while I was speaking. The most concerning issue occurred during the deposit procedure. I fully understand the need for a hotel to request a security deposit. However, because my card does not have the full card number printed on it, he insisted on receiving a card with visible numbers so he could manually enter the card number and CVV into the hotel’s system, instead of using a standard card pre-authorisation method. I found this highly inappropriate from a security and privacy perspective. My reservation had already been paid through my Accor account and guaranteed with the credit card on file. When I expressed my concerns and refused, his attitude became even more unfriendly, and he suggested I leave a cash deposit instead—which would require me to find an ATM late at night in the area around Frankfurt Hbf. In the end, I provided a temporary card number simply to complete the check-in process, but the entire experience was stressful and unnecessary. The hotel also appears to have a serious issue with its key card system. During my two-night stay, my key card was deactivated three separate times, preventing me from accessing the corridor or using the lift. Each time, the staff seemed unsure of the cause and handled the situation in a rather unprofessional manner. In addition, housekeeping and maintenance require improvement. I noticed stains on the bedsheets and duvet, stains on the bathroom floor, and the shower water temperature frequently dropped to freezing cold. Overall, the location is convenient for business travellers, but the poor customer service and other issues significantly affected my stay.

Hotel was really close to the train station - in hindsight a bit too close, which comes with the roughness of a city as big as Frankfurt. Nothing wrong with the hotel but I would probably chose a Mercure at a different location in the future
