Loved loved 25 Hours Hotel in Frankfurt…area abit dodgy but hotel is amazing!

TripAdvisor rating 4.0/5

Janine C Couples - TripAdvisor review

Staff super friendly and knowledgeable and our room perfect with standard 25 hours decor and some little treasures in the fridge. No two 25 hours hotels are the same to look at but the decor has a very quirky off centre vibe… not your standard IBIS I must say! Fri and Sat nights a little noisy due to the music being played from their downstairs, we did have a little moan and they were very gracious in their response (breakfast on the house thank you.)

Not the same experience like last stay in 2019, people at the desk were rude and had lot of attitude. Not felt same as last time. Room sizes are ok. Shower and WC area is different which is a good thing. Light is very less.

Not really ideal for worktrip

The hotel is a nice hotel, but in my opinion is not suited for people using it for work trips. It is really modern, has some amazing ideas (like for example the possibility of renting nice bikes to explore the city), but I have the feeling that it is more suitable for young people travelling, it gives you a backpacking feeling although it is not cheap. I did not like the rooms, too dark, with a black wc and sink, and in my opinion the breakfast is poor and overpriced - in my rate only a to-go breakfast was included (7 euros) and for having a normal breakfast I had to add 14 euros (so total is 21), and, as said, the offer was quite limited. The staff also was not really super-friendly - not rude at all, but simply not friendly as I would have expected. However the hotel is clean, in a central position (although Niddastrasse is not really the best road in Frankfurt) and secure. I really liked the lobby, but honestly it will not be my choice for my next stay in Frankfurt - not because it is bad (on the contrary - it is a nice hotel) but when travelling for work I prefer other hotels.

So Trendy But Doesn't Live Up to Its Promise

You remember when you were at college and there was a person there that was irredeemably left wing, looked utterly stunning but was a total pain in the arse. This is the 25hours Hotel Frankfurt in one sentence. I stayed a week at the hotel and the plus points were: Fantastic Food in the Restaurant - it is bar far and away the best Middle East fusion food I have ever tasted. The restaurant was always packed and heaving. If you are staying somewhere else go their for food. Comfy Rooms but with a weird jet black bathroom. The down points were 1. Location, the website says that it is on the edge on the red-light district. It is in fact right in the centre and about 100m from the local methadone dispensary. There are drug addicts, pimps and beggars strewn over the entrance. If you walk through the alley from the station there were 2 pimps or pushers permanently stationed at the entrance. Although they didn't seem to bother anyone, the smell of piss in the street could put you off. 2. Service - The hotel's service was very cranky at best and not caring at worst. I had the experience of coming back to the hotel late needing dinner, it was 19.45. I was told that the snack bar had closed by the famous roof terrace was open. I got there at 19.55 and was roundly told that they had already closed and that I could shove off. On another day, I tried to use the cafe in the reception and was told the same, that they were due to close in 5 mins and had already packed up. Therefore, no food and sod-off. On my last day, I went to use the restaurant for breakfast, my colleagues had left early, but the restaurant had somehow decided to cut me off their list too and I had to argue for my breakfast. Frankly - although the food is great I really wouldn't want to stay there ever again.

Functional.

Great little hotel well located in the centre and very friendly and proactive staff. The roof cafe is a bit of a loss but the rest is close to perfect. Very clean and the restaurant next door works well. Night time location wise is a little challenging for the location.
