The hotel location is excellent and the rooms are reasonable by 5 star standards. There are a few design flaws in the room I stayed in but they are not deal breakers. What really disappointed me was the utter lack a solution orientation with the staff on the main desk. It was a simple ask - I needed to convert 300 US$ to Euros and they said they could only convert the equivalent of US$100. I asked if they could give me cash on my account, to which they also said no. They asked me to go to a bank, who also didn't help and after a 40 minute wild goose chase I returned to the hotel. I expressed my frustration and the lady at the reception just kept insisting that all she could do was convert US$100. I asked to speak to the manager and she called someone on the phone and then said she could change US$200. I was shocked at this strange behaviour and insisted I speak with the manager (yes, the Karen in me finally came out, but this was just getting silly). She went in to a room and came back with the "approval" to convert US$300. The point is that if ultimately they could solve my problem, why would they not do it right away rather than cause so much irritation and frustration to a guest. There is something incredibly poor in the way they approached this situation.

While we are pleased to read that you appreciated our location and overall comfort, I am truly sorry that our service did not meet your expectations, particularly in a situation where efficiency and solution orientation were essential. Allow me to clarify the circumstances you encountered. The currency exchange limit is in place due to the limited amount of cash available at the hotel and to ensure that this service can be offered fairly and consistently to all our guests. In addition, cash payouts charged to a guest room account are not permitted due to local regulatory requirements, which unfortunately restrict our flexibility in such cases. That said, your feedback clearly highlights that the situation was not handled with the level of clarity, empathy, and decisiveness that you should rightly expect from a five star hotel. While the final solution was ultimately provided, the way this was communicated and managed caused unnecessary irritation, and for that I sincerely apologize. Please be assured that we are taking your comments very seriously. We will be retraining our front office team to ensure that such matters are explained more transparently and handled more efficiently in the future, with a stronger focus on guest experience and proactive problem solving.
