the rest of my stay was enjoyable and comfortable but as a guest who has stayed with you several years in a row now I was quite disappointed by the check in this year.

I like the Sofitel Opera in FRA and stayed there a few times. But I don’t enjoy crossing paths with bus loads of cruse ship tourists. That happened during my last stay. That should not happen in a Sofitel hotel.

I was on a business trip and had to spend some time working in the room. it was very convenient and had big windows. I very much appreciated the room service (food and staff). The greatest was the big swimming pool!

I come regularly to the Sofitel in Frankfurt. I have the same excellent experience every time. Friendly and professional staff, clean and well maintain rooms make for a quiet and serene stay.

Good and bad points There were many elements which delivered on the 5 star hotel rating. The door staff, receiption, concierge and housekeeping were all very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Housekeeping did an amazing job keeping our room pristine for the extended stay. Our assigned room was wonderful overlooking the park and it included a big balcony. The weather was warm so we were able to sit outside and sip wine. Truly heavenly. There was one element in the room itself that I wish the hotel would provide instructions or a QR code link explaining how to operate the lights in the room. The had blocks of switches (5 - 6 switches) in many places throughout with no labels which never functioned in a predictable manner. For example, you would try to turn on the living room light in the morning but it would also turn on the bedroom lights, waking the spouse up. The next day the same switch would do something different. Maybe being born and raised in Europe this system would make sense but coming from North America, this was a total mystery. The restaurant knocked the rating down to 3 stars. We had dinner there on the first night and it was disappointing. Full review elsewhere. Then for breakfasts, on average you only get what you order for breakfast half the time. For example you order 2 eggs and you get 1 egg. Order eggs with green sauce and no hollandaise sauce, you get eggs with hollandaise sauce and no green sauce. Overcooked eggs and so on. Also they did not put much effort into replenishing the buffet items. So get there early for a full selection of items. Many times items would say empty in the time we were there. Dirty dishes were generally not collected. Some days it took a very long time before we could order coffee. The priority seems to be setting up tables before serving people aleady there. Bottom line, 3 stars at best, certainly not 5 star. Having said all this, some staff were quite good and provided nice service.

2-night stay after landing at FRA. Our rooms were ready when we arrived and were comfortable and nicely appointed. The staff was amazing, very helpful and responsive. The concierge even tried to get the restaurant to make a truffle pasta my daughter loved at the Sofitel in Munich. They didn't have the ingredients, but we really appreciated the effort! Breakfast was good (nice bread selection!). Room service was also good. Great property, right next to the opera, close to shopping and restaurants.

I expect 5 star hotels to have gluten free vegan options. First breakfast the bread was gf but not vegan and no vg butter. Memet in charge of dining area carefully took note. By day 2 there was vegan butter (margarine- should be standard as many avoid butter for healthy reasons). There was gluten free vegan bread and rolls. Such a lovely change from day 1. He really worked to deliver excellent customer service.

The balcony view to the Frankfurt skyline was wonderful. The room was well appointed and very comfotable. The staff was particularly friendly and very helpful when it came to train and tram schedules and logistics.

Instead of coming back to me as agreed with your Reception desk colleague who did my check-out and clarifying why my first night got charged despite information by my Company Travel Agent that the flight from London got cancelled I am getting sent generic NPS emails.. not really a 5 start service you would expect

I fully understand your frustration, particularly as the next communication you received was an automated survey, which is triggered centrally after departure and cannot be influenced by the hotel team. Following the cancellation of your flight, the travel agent specifically asked us to keep the room available overnight for your early morning arrival. Based on this request, the night was charged. Where we clearly fell short was in not communicating this to you directly and promptly. Given the business relationship we highly value, and as a gesture for this communication failure on our side, I would be very pleased to invite you for one complimentary overnight stay including breakfast on a future visit.
