I had a very comfortable stay at the Ibis Budget located next to the Nîmes train station. The air conditioned room was such a relief on a hot summer day. The location couldn't be beat. The bed, room and amenities were all great, breakfast was delicious, service was friendly, and I appreciated the complimentary luggage check. I also appreciated that there were no surprises when I arrived, the check-in was simple and the amount to pay was exactly as expected.

Generally, happy with the hotel. Parking, reception etc was good. But, oh, the breakfast. Can't fault the food but staffing was abysmal. Too many customers and 2 waiting staff who were so inefficient. No leadership whatsoever After 9am everyone, while we were there, sat at a dirty table. One guy came round with a trolley, instead of organising himself, he put plates on the trolley. Didn't stack them. So when 1 layer of plates filled the trolly he want to offload in the kitchen.There erte still lots of tables to clear. Didn't even think about wiping down the table for the next guests. Maybe the hotel thinks its acceptable to have your breakfast table dirty with food debris. Around 9.30, 2 girls from reception started helping out. That helped but it was still mayhem.

Unbeatable proximity to station, bright and clean, bedrooms quiet with all essentials and very comfortable bed. This is standard Ibis, but a new experience for us was the very cheerful and friendly receptionist and the well-stocked and reasonable bar. We arrived too late and tired to explore and the adjacent eateries are dry. Only slightly odd thing was the way the showers spray horizontally rather than vertically!

Overall, it was great, but one thing I was disappointed about was the breakfast. They didn’t refill the food even when it had run out. I was there around 9:30 a.m., and there were no omelets or bacon left.
