This was our first time in Vienna during a very busy time for the city (Christmas Markets) but we would come home to 3 serene apartments each night. One night involved home cooked dinner, wine and dessert at “home”. A wonderful way to enjoy Vienna.

Room was under the roof which meant that a good chunk of it was unusable because of the roof pitch. Despite it being winter and below freezing temperatures, we had to sleep with the windows open as the room was too hot even with the heating off. We had to leave the windows open for the whole day for the room to be cool down enough to be able to sleep at night. The hotel is by a major road that is extremely noisy even at night which made sleeping with the windows open (which are much much smaller than in the pictures) very hard. Because of the pitched roof, the only place to put the tv was parallel to the bed, which basically meant that if you wanted to watch it you needed to move the tv stand in front of the bed and could not move around in the bedroom as there was no space anymore or just not watch tv. The bed was extremely uncomfortable but after asking for a mattress topper, which was nicely provided by the staff, this got better. I was quite surprised by the low quality of the rooms for a 4 stars hotel. Despite paying for late check out, we had to negotiate to be able to check out at 4pm, despite it being the reason we took late check out in the first place.

We had 2 rooms. I one the heating could not be controlled and the widow needed to be opened, but not whilst anyone was in the room! Also the shower head kept falling down. The other room, the sink plug was broken, causing us to waste more water and the shower kept overflowing.

Positives: good location, easy to get to places in the centre, staff were pleasant Negatives: The bed was uncomfortable The room was very hot Only one lift was working the whole time we were there and we had to wait often The shower went hot and cold The toilet was not clean when we arrived They didn’t let us use the gym and sauna after checking out which was empty every time we had gone so I don’t understand why not. The gym has limited equipment

All in all good stay. Clean and welcoming. Nice people especially Sussana at the breakfast. Breakfast not diverse but fresh and nice. The water in the shower was constantly going from hot to cold and vice versa.
