We were really excited for our stay as it was our first time in Vienna. The man at front desk was nice however slightly intimidating. Nevertheless, we checked into our room and the minibar was complimentary with out stay however there was alcohol in the fridge. As muslims we dont drink so i called front desk to request that the alcohol be replaced with something else, even water. However the man on the phone made me feel horrible for asking and said “ooohhh that would be too difficult”. I work in a hotel myself and we always put the guest’s needs first, yes i can understand some requests may be too much to ask for however this wasn’t a large request. As well as this, the air conditioning was loud and didnt even work. The windows were locked (perhaps for security), but the fact of the matter is that we had little-to-no ventilation. Previous interactions with front desk deterred us from wanting to call again. The wifi also stopped working and the front desk didn’t think to inform the guests that it would be shut off for a period of time. Their only response was: “it’s stopped working, we’ve called IT but we dont know when it will be fixed”. Providing no peace of mind that a solution will be found soon.
