Great location and decent hotel. Breakfast could be better. Staff was morcelé except the agent that checked us in and out. She was very unwelcoming and paranoid. We asked a question and she rushed us off and told us to come back and ask the agent in the morning as she could not assist us. Very cold, this was the main thing that ruined our stay.

The weird combo of pillows so soft they’re non-existent, a mattress so hard your ribs hurt in the morning and single duvets on a double bed that aren’t big enough to cover a grown man individually. Also there was some mix up at booking that should have been easily ironed out but when we tried to discuss this with receptionist she was so rude and dismissive - wouldn’t even entertain letting us discuss it with a manager. Hotel was including breakfast but only for one half of the couple! So one free, one paying €23 for breakfast a day?!? Clearly just burying the price of two in that. We did it - once. So take our tip and skip breakfast here: it’s an uninviting buffet of not-quite mix of offerings to make a meal served in the atmosphere of a library during a funeral. (That said, the breakfast team were the friendliest staff at this hotel). Location was good, ensuite was good, but bed comfort and friendliness sorely lets it down.

This is an hotel with character that is very well situated. Our room was a good size and well-equipped (we particularly liked the size of the bathroom, the quality of the fixtures, and the ample hot water). All the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast is a bit odd. We didn't find out for some days that you could get a jug of coffee, not just the very small cupfuls from the machine. And we only discovered by accident that, on request, staff would boil you an egg. What else could we have had freshly prepared? Further, on most days an unasked-for three-tier rack would arrive with ham, rolls etc. Doesn't this just encourage food waste? But altogether a pleasure to stay at the hotel.

Would not recommend staying here….. uncomfortable beds and bedding, awful breakfast and rude staff. That pretty much covers it!
