Well located, easy access to central Vienna. Poor breakfast, definitely not what you’d expect from a four star hotel. Breakfast was quite chaotic, and took far longer than it should have, due to poor layout & understaffing (despite best efforts of all staff present). Food from the restaurant was of very disappointing quality and overpriced. We ate there once and then avoided. Much better to be found nearby for a similar price.

Not up to Accor standards for a 4-star hotel

I am an Accor member and I have visited numerous Accor hotels around Europe. Unfortunately I believe that the Novotel Wien City looks more like a 3 star hotel, rather than a 4. While the hotel is modern and rennovated,there were some incidents in a 2 night stay that pile up: a) While I had booked the room with a late check out for 17.00 PM (free option when booking through the Accor site), during check in the receptionist informed me that the check-out is at 12. When I told him that the booking was for late check-out at 17.00 he replied that they were fully booked and he could do me a favor and check out at 1. This was unacceptable. Next morning I talked again with another receptionist, which confirmed me that my late check-out was confirmed. I don't understand, was the hotel fully booked or not? If the late check out was not possible, should I learn it during my check-in? I booked the hotel more than a month in advance. How did the next day suddenly late check-out become possible? b) While separete rooms for toilet and bathroom may be a good idea, the execution is terrible. Toilet room has no sink to wash your hands, or even a basked to put away sanitary pads (after you put them in the sanitary pad). This means you need to get out of the toilet, pass through the room, and open the bathroom door before you even have a chance to wash your hands. Honestly while I have seen again toilets being seperated, never without a sink or a basket c) While the room has dark curtains to darken the room (as every hotel) the bathroom has a big window and the bathroom door is a "glass" one. This means that light passes through this glass door and lightens the room which would wake you up d) Hand soap was semi-empty and never re-filled. By last day we used shower gel to wash our hands While some of the above can happen (others are flat-out unacceptable) when you add everything together for only a 2 night stay, it is definitely not a good experience, compared to the usual standards of an Accor hotel.

Regarding the late check-out, we regret the confusion and miscommunication. Our standard check-out time is indeed 12:00 PM, but we do offer late check-out options on a request basis which are subject to availability on arrival. Concerning the bathroom layout, we understand your concerns about the separate toilet room. While this design is intended to offer more privacy, we acknowledge that it may not suit everyone's preferences. We appreciate your feedback on the bathroom lighting and will consider ways to improve the room darkening options. Lastly, we apologize for the oversight with the hand soap refill. We have high standards for cleanliness and will reinforce our housekeeping procedures to prevent such occurrences in the future. We value your loyalty as an Accor member and hope you will give us another opportunity to provide you with a more satisfactory experience in the future. A pleasant stay

I had a 4 night stay at this good hotel with helpful staff. Excellent location near to the Danube, a short walk from both an underground station and from Wien-Mitte, where the airport trains get in. Room was pleasantly, though not luxuriously furnished, had both a kettle and a fridge, and the bathroom was very good with a powerful shower. The hotel appeared to have a restaurant which I would have loved to try, but I never saw anyone in it, and there was no menu on display in the lobby. Odd - and I think the management is missing a trick here.

All was good. Upon check in realised that there were no blankets/duvet laid on beds, just the duvet cover as blanket. That was weird but we requested at reception and it all got sorted out. Other than all was good. Thanks
