Dung L TripAdvisor review

I had a fantastic stay at Pullman Hotel Vung Tau! The ambiance was great, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The highlight of my visit was enjoying delicious Indian food at Benaras Masala Bay. The service staff was excellent, and I loved the samosas, chicken curry, and chole naan. Highly recommend!

I have been a regular guest at Pullman Vung Tau since 2018, and in the past, Pullman Vung Tau left a positive impression on me. However, during my stay from November 1st for 3 days and 2 nights, I felt that the infrastructure and services had deteriorated and did not meet my expectations. I am quite disappointed. Firstly, regarding the infrastructure, the Lobby was quite hot, lacking proper cooling, the shower fixtures in the room were broken, and the pillows were dirty. The hotel did assist in resolving these issues, but I still did not feel happy with the outcome. Secondly, about the service: When I checked out and sat in the bar area, I had left my luggage at the bar. The bar staff reminded me that this area was not for luggage storage. I had quite a bit of luggage. If it were a regular hotel, not a 5-star one, I would understand. However, being a hotel under the Accor group and classified as 5 stars, I expected a different level of assistance. The staff's way of speaking could have been more tactful and accommodating.

The foyer area is substantial and sets a perfect calm tone for the entire hotel. We arrived early, but they happily allowed us to check in as the room was ready. Restaurant in the hotel was excellent. Buffet breakfast had so much variety. Ate Vietnamese for breakfast one morning. When in Rome! We utilised the pool (the lining was coming up which was a little strange) and the sauna and steam room were a fantastic addition. We had a sea view room which would be perfect to watch the sun come up if you are an early riser. The room size was excellent with a substantial bathroom and dressing area. Air-conditioning also worked a treat and you could control the temperature. Shout out to David who checked in with us multiple times over our 2 night stay. Highly recommend this hotel.

Anthonie v TripAdvisor review

Our warm regards to Monsieur David, Mr. Tin and the team at the Pullman Vung Tau! We spent 10 days at great value Vung Tau Pullman in Aug/Sept 2024, made very welcome and looked after very well by its professional, courteous (so e would say lovely 😊) staff. Disregard any mention in old promo materials/reviews of access arrangements for the Paradise (?) beach club - that got canned 1+ years ago. However, the hotel shuttle still does the 400m run to the beach drop off point. Vung Tau is warmer than HCM (and HCM is hot enough!) so it is handy to have the choice to avoid the 400m walk to go for a swim at the beach. Vung Tau is historically a domestic tourist beach getaway town for residents of Saigon. It is not a western style beach resort tailored to well off foreign tourists nor is it full of wallet emptying tourist attractions to choose from. In other . The beach near the hotel is a good wide swimmable beach but not groomed to cater for “fussy” western tourists. The municipal authorities are also in the middle of a multi year beach front refurb along all of Bai Sau and much of the stretch between sand and street is (unfenced) rubbl waiting for a better life 😎. Add several half finished high rises dotted around the town where work has stopped and the reinforcing iron is rusting and you realise your in a real place with real people, real joys and real problems. Grab is great and very affordable - never had to wait for more than a minute in the lobby for the rides we booked as we left our spoacious well maintained 11th floor city view room and enjoyed the glass elevator ride down through the beautiful open foyer of this 12 storey building. The town also has heaps of open sided electric “golf cart” taxis you can hail for a fun, cooling ride along the wide beach front boulevard. Take one all the way along the beach front to Bai Truoc’s Greenlines ferry terminal and grab a few beers there on the docks in the shade/breeze. Or indulge in the Selfie Craze like the you youngsters! Take the Greenlines hydrofoil airconditioned 2.5 hr ferry to/from central city Saigon (on arrival/departure or as day trip). Book online - Easy Peasy! We enjoyed breaifastinng and lunching at the Pullman’s spacious immaculate restaurant, morning coffees (and the occasional Saigon Special!) in the lobby cafe where, for those whose room booking includes access to the Executive Lounge to enjoy complimentary drinks and fingerfood buffet from 5-7pm every day, non alcoholic drinks incl. coffee and tea can be enjoyed for free throughout the day when the Executove Lounge is closed. Despite cooling sea breezes, Vung Tau felt a few degrees warmer than Ho Chi Minh City and the 12 storey Pullman has an open lobby with a glass roof. The 11th floor Executive Lounge airconditioning just manages to keep things at a comfortable (although not cool) level an we quickly learnt to close our 11th floor (much appreciated complimentary upgraded) city view room curtains during the time of the day that the sun hit our side of the building. This kept our room at a comfortable 20(ish) degrees Celcius and made for very good sleeps in the super comfortable supportive beds with the duvet inners removed (our visit here was during our New Zealand winter so much very much acclimatising) The hotel was commencing renovation of the pools while we were there starting with the kids’ pool. The substantial rectangular main pool had/has a plastic liner which has/had worked its way loose and is on the renovation plan. Would suggest an email to hotel to find out if and when that pool will be out of service and whether they will have arrangements in place for use of other nearby pool(s) such as IBIS, Novotel or non Accor hotel(s) as we regularly enjoyed swimming at the hotel as a way of cooling down and exercising- the big pool is large and deep enough to swim laps. The hotel gym’s airco was just strong enough to make exercise possible (and sweaty) with the usual, in our experience unavoidable in enclosed spaces, musty airco smell. It doesn’t have a huge amount of equipment but what is there is good quality with cardio equipment that is robust, maintained and safe to use although not being latest model top of the line online enabled. Small mall with big Lotte Mart hypermarket, ATMs (and a KFC!) is next door but didn’t disturb us in any way despite being part of the nice city view from our room as the conference centre “globe” is located between it and the hotel. The Lotte Mart is a great place to buy any extra snacks for the room or your excursions and extra water (did I mention Vung Tau is hot? 😎) We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, were treated like special guests, soaked up the smiles and the way staff were keen to interact and help. The fact that the hotel honoured all benefits and aspects of our Accor Plus membership and Accor Live Limited Platinum status A+ Platinum level combined with a competitive rate for this high end western chain affiliated hotel to make it a hotel we would love to visit again - the sooner the better! Finally an extra thank you to Tung for helping us renew our Vinaphone data plan 🙏
