As one of the city’s classic luxury hotels, its location is unquestionably superb—right in the true heart of Saigon. What’s especially impressive is how fresh and well run the hotel feels despite its history. The public areas have gone through several rounds of renovation and now look soft, elegant, and very much in line with the brand’s recent aesthetic direction. Guest rooms, by contrast, keep a more traditional style, presenting a bold, vivid sense of French flair blended with local touches—a classic Sofitel look that used to be very common in the brand’s portfolio. Thanks to excellent upkeep, the facilities may be seasoned but never feel inconvenient. As a side note, the in room amenities—such as toothbrushes, nail files, and other small essentials—are of outstanding quality and fully follow the latest brand standards, which is a big plus. Dining is without question the biggest highlight. Le 17 Bistro and ST25 by KOTO—one French, one Vietnamese—complement each other beautifully. Le 17 Bistro focuses on classic French dishes, with thoughtful ingredients, seasoning, and execution. Service is equally professional, warm, and friendly. My thanks to THAO, LINH, MY, and BAO for their wonderful hospitality. ST25 by KOTO offers creative Vietnamese cuisine with a cleverly designed tasting menu. The flavors are diverse, the progression is well balanced, and it works perfectly even for solo diners. Great value for money, and highly recommended. Of course, the experience wouldn’t be complete without Rinna’s professionalism, friendliness, and genuine passion for food. Boudoir Lounge and the “S” Pool Bar & Dining are both excellent as well. The former has a lively atmosphere and great cocktails; the latter boasts a stunning sunset view with refreshing drinks to match. The welcome drink options at the pool bar also feel particularly thoughtful. All in all, both bars are equally worth visiting. Beyond the restaurants and bars, Club Millésime is another strong point. The food, drinks, and service are all delightful, and the relaxing time spent there became an essential part of this elegant, romantic getaway. Finally, regarding service—everything above already speaks for itself. Throughout my stay, the entire hotel team was professional, enthusiastic, warm, and genuinely friendly. Special thanks to Tim for the kind assistance offered as I was waiting outside after checkout. In summary: a fantastic location, well maintained hardware, impressive dining, and heartfelt service. Naturally, it’s a hotel I’m happy to recommend!

Overall, the hotel’s standard falls far short of that of a typical 5-star hotel, especially when compared directly to international hotel chains in Ho Chi Minh City. The hotel furnishings and the swimming pool have certainly seen better days—which made for a decidedly disappointing experience. The breakfast room lacks a certain coziness and tranquility that would allow one to start the day off right. On a positive note, however, the service was nearly flawless, and the staff were very friendly.
