PUPDUG Families - TripAdvisor review

I stay here for a concert. The price is normally $115 per night. I had to pay $568!!! While the bed was comfortable the rest was disgusting. The shower and sink was in the room with the bed. Thankfully the toilet was in a tiny room but the door didn’t shut. The “bedside tables” were filthy as was the bench, which was hanging off the wall at an odd angle. Never ever staying in one of these again.

Stadium proximity perfection but enter at own risk!

The hotel is closest to Accor stadium but after that, there is nothing positive to say! The place is putrid and needs a huge overhaul! Hardly up to Accor standard! The carpet is so filthy, as are the walls! The bedding had stains and the shower, aka cupboard, is held together by mould!

Not quite 3 star, you get what you pay for

anivyl Solo travel - TripAdvisor review

I will be honest: I booked this hotel thinking it’s the ibis hotel, the one right next to the station which I have stayed in before. So I had a rude shock when I realised it wasn’t. The pros: I had a family issue that I need to head up to Sydney for, so luckily I had a room. Needed one just for the night. If you just need a place to sleep, this is ok. No bells and whistles. There’s vending machine downstairs and maccas not too far away, so you’re not hurting for drinks and food. Room was neat, bed was clean. That was all. The cons: Oh boy. So I checked in very late, and you would think for a few hours, I shouldn’t have any issues. Incorrect. Toilet was very small, so it was hard to manoeuvre, especially if you’re a bigger person. Front desk is often empty. From before I arrive, when I tried to call and no one picked up, to when I was there trying to check in, there’s often no one and there’s a wait. While I have no issues with that, there was a guy who desperately needed help but he was disabled and therefore out of range from the CCTV where I think they were trying to monitor the front desk. I had to help him wave at the cctv. It is a fair walk from the station, so if you have lots of luggage, I would advise that you conserve some energy for the walk or uber it. The shower was not well ventilated, so steam kept flowing out. I was surprised that it didn’t set off any alarms so… is the alarm working? And honestly, the way the room is set up, it’s not particularly great to have an open shower the way it’s set up. Room was relatively run down, where shower was leaking into the room floor. There were masking tapes in sections of the room. Pretty sure breakfast was 6.30am on the website when I looked, but was written 7am when I got there. I already paid for breakfast but could not stay as my trip back to Canberra is at 8. Such a waste of money. If I had to stay for more than one night, I had be changing back to my usual ibis.

Good location but a very basic hotel

I was attending a work conference at the Showground and chose it due to its proximity. Next time, I will stay further away as the location wasn't worth it. The Weeknd was playing, so rooms increased from around $100/night to over $300/night and the hotel is old, dirty and very basic. I had no towels in my room and called that night around 9pm, but no one answered. I called again and left a message, but did not receive a return call or towels delivered. I had to call again in the morning. It's fine if you get it cheap and want basic, but I wouldn't recommend.
