We were assigned room 404 and given 2 keycards. Took the elevator the assigned room and used the key card to unlock and open the door, only to immediately recognize that the room was occupied due to the bed being unmade and someone else's suitcases sitting there and belongings everywhere. Immediately closed the door and went down to the report the mistake to reception. They were VERY casual in their apology and simply reassigned us to a new room (804). This was a terrifying, scary experience -and completely destroyed our trust. We didn't feel safe here at all and when we out to dinner we took ALL our valuables and documents with us. Barely slept being worried a stranger may walk in any moment. Can you imagine in someone had been in the room we were originally assigned when we walked in? Especially if it were a woman, and she was naked? Very lucky that were good honest people that didn't steal anything. And for reception to treat it so casually as if it were no big deal was HORRIFYING. No compensation provided, no manager coming to talk and apologize to us and assure us we would be safe and the same thing would not happen to us. Had we not been exhausted after traveling all day I would have raised hell, but were there for less than 24hrs thank God. I'm not familiar with the laws in France but I would assume this stay would (and SHOULD) be comped. We were assigned Room 404 and given two key cards. After taking the elevator to our room, we used our key card to unlock the door and immediately discovered the room was already occupied. The bed had clearly been slept in, another guest's luggage was throughout the room, and personal belongings were everywhere. We immediately closed the door, returned to reception, and reported what had happened. While mistakes can happen, what was truly shocking was the hotel's response. Reception treated the situation as though it were a minor inconvenience, offered only a brief apology, and simply reassigned us to Room 804. No manager came to speak with us, no one acknowledged the seriousness of the security breach, no one apologized in person beyond the front desk, and no effort was made to restore our confidence or compensate us for what had happened. This completely destroyed our sense of safety for the remainder of our stay. If the hotel mistakenly gave us access to another guest's room, how could we be confident another guest wouldn't later be given access to ours? We left for dinner carrying every passport, piece of electronics, and valuable we owned because we no longer trusted that our room was secure. We slept poorly, worried that someone could walk into our room at any time. It's also impossible not to think about how much worse this incident could have been. Had the occupants been inside when we entered—particularly if someone had been sleeping, changing clothes, or otherwise vulnerable—the situation could have been traumatic for everyone involved. We were honest guests who immediately backed out and reported the mistake, but not everyone would have done the same. Ordinarily, I would have insisted on speaking with management before leaving. However, after an exhausting day of international travel, we arrived late, had to wake up around 3:00 a.m. the next morning for our flight, and then endured additional flight cancellations and delays getting home. It has taken me several days after returning home to finally have the time and energy to write this review. Given the seriousness of this security failure and the hotel's inadequate response, I believe our stay should have been fully refunded. More importantly, I hope management reviews its procedures to ensure this never happens to another guest.

We were very disappointed with the cleanliness of the hotel. When we arrived, the room had not been cleaned properly. The bedside tables were covered in dust, the shelves were dusty, the bathtub had what looked like nail polish stains, and there was a clothing tag left on the floor from previous guests. The windows were dirty, and the curtains looked like they hadn't been washed in a very long time. The breakfast was also very disappointing. We stayed for five nights, and not a single dish changed during our entire stay. The cutlery was consistently dirty, and we often had to search through the tray to find clean utensils. Overall, it was a sad and disappointing experience. We expected a much higher standard from Novotel. On the positive side, the location is excellent. Both the airport and the city center are within walking distance.

All of the front desk team members were great, except for the night shift employee who was working on the night of the 12th. He was unpleasant and incorrectly accused me of being in the lobby for two hours. In reality, I was in the lobby from approximately 12:40 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. while waiting for my daughter to finish showering before bedtime, as we had an early flight on the morning of the 13th. I reminded him that I had come in and purchased two bottles of water from him, and that I had only been in the lobby for about an hour. Despite this, he again accused me of being untruthful and insisted that I had been there for two hours. To be clear, I was sitting in the lobby and occasionally dozing off, but I was not lying down or asleep. I did not believe there was any issue with quietly sitting in the lobby while waiting for my daughter. I feel that the situation could have been handled much more respectfully and professionally. Unfortunately, that was not the case, and I was disappointed by the way I was treated.
